It is my pleasure to write in our local board today and for the first time. Most importantly I am happy to be part of this community and the cryptocurrency revolution. I give all thanks to my boyfriend who introduced me here and have been teaching me about bitcoin for some years now.

The reason for this thread is that I want to link up to real women in this forum that are within Port Harcourt. I know this is a privacy forum, but I think this initiative will enable my dream of creating a platform to promote Nigerian women in Crypto. So, if there is any woman here who doesn't mind, we can meet in Ph and start from somewhere. Thanks to you all.

Even then, I’m welcoming of you having to identify as a Nigerian and seeing the need to promote cryptocurrency with Nigerian women on the forum. I would say, it goes beyond the forum at this point as, women on the forum are already in the cryptospace and are doing quite well. Perhaps there might be some other initiative but then, in as much as privacy is concerned and we’ve got to respect that, women outside the forum would mean even more for a women cryptocurrency initiative.

It goes beyond the forum. I am not going to empower women in the forum. I am only trying to know a few if they exist, especially within Port Harcourt so that I can share my idea with them, we can synergize and it might turn out great in the future.

Furthermore, many real women might choose to remain anonymous because it's the right discipline in crypto involvement and also owing to the fact that crypto doesn't yet enjoy very favorable conditions in our country and coupled with security challenges in the country.

First of all, welcome to our naija local board, it's a pleasure having another female in our mix, honestly am surprised that you are a Nigerian and you have not identify with us since, which I think it's not fair, E no make sense in anyway because e dy very easy for we to stand for you in trying times, but when you stay on your own like the way you don dy since, we no go fit fall out for you if you run into any problem because we no know say you be one of us.

I decide to change am to broken English because if truly say you been Nigerian as you claimed you go easily understand wetin I dy yan, but anyway, na still good tin say you realize your mistake and come back home and relate with us.
On the aspect of linking most women that are into cryptocurrency in port Harcourt together, that one no go dy easy because in this crypto space, privacy na everything, no be everybody want people to know say them dy into cryptocurrency for security reasons, as it stands now, I know of few of our Nigerian sisters in this forum, but I no sure if them go like linking up with you, as it stands now, the only women I know wey dy in our midst now is @smartgold and @miles, but regardless of everything, welcome to the hood.

The number of women involved in cryptocurrency in Nigeria of a truth are very low compared to the men. A phenomenon am not taken aback about just as we can notice same in other real life industries where men dominates.

If the op is taken it upon herself to want to link up with other females in the Naija local board community, particularly those of Port Harcourt extraction then it's something to embrace provided it's gonna turnout successful in encouraging other females in your city to the knowledge of bitcoin.

I don't mean to burst you bubble but I don't think there is any hindrance for women to be in crypto-currency. That narrative that women push especially in other profession has nothing to do here. Crypto-currency doesn't care about your gender because every and anyone can jump in on it regardless of your gender.
I know of many women who are already doing very big in crypto-currency and also men, in addition you should very much prioritize your own safety you can not compromise it for anything, be careful about you wanting to meet up people from the forum, it can be super risky.

A full member with merits on this forum is saying that this is the first time that she is posting on our Nigerian local board this is surprising to me because one of the first places that most people starts from is our local board here where we discuss about crypto currency relating to the Nigerian society, well if this is your first time you're welcome to our local board.

There are women here and even involved in cryptocurrency like Melanie Trump who launched her own coin also, and to think anyone has ever sidelined women in this community, is a fallacy of ambiguity. Infact we encourage more female participation not just those seeking to get noticed.

It isn't a bad idea for the women to have a gathering outside this forum, but I hope when a male hopes to do same, it won't result to conflict of interest.

This forum na for we all, male or female. Any meetings or Whatsapp groups created outside here or outside your privacy in respect to cryptocurrency will only do more to expose you to anyone who can access your devices or monitor your whereabouts. Be cautious.

Organizing meetups is common in the general crypto industry, i never attend any crypto meetup in our country, the reason be say many times people go organize bitcoin meetup, when you reach there dem go begin promote some kind shitcoins.

That said, there are many women in the industry, not as much as men obviously. I even sabi some of my female friends wey get interest for crypto and i dey assist dem too. If you eventually organize your meetup, dey careful and only meet in a public place and no too give away plenty information about yourself.

As a matter of fact, I've seen several women engage in crypto and they have become successful in their careers. It all depends on the individual and how far they can control their emotions. Although it's generally speaking that women are more emotional than men and crypto needs an individual who's emotionally trained to withstand its fluctuations and market volatility. When you have people who cannot take risks because they're scared of losing, mostly found in our women, then it becomes a problem for them to build their portfolio over time.

Welcome to the forum and I am very happy to see a Nigerian woman coming out to talk about this forum and want it to progress by meeting women like her, the idea is good and it will make you understand more about things that you want to understand but I don't think some people will be happy about it and wanted to meet you, na Nigeria we dey and many things dey happen wey we no fit imagine, E dey hard to dey trust people this days because as you want make una come see each other if some people go don think say maybe na one kind scam things.

I did not mean say you be fake or scammer oh abeg make you hear me well, waiting I dey try be say some people will not like the idea because say you no suppose trust anybody when it comes to cryptocurrency matter and forum na cryptocurrency matter, many people got scammed and robbed face to face before so they will be thinking the same but if you believe yourself and ask question and things you don't understand you will gradually know more of what you want to know about forum and how you want make E be.

I haven’t actually come across or seen more women engage in gambling from Naija than I have seen in other regions. It is a good initiative the OP has come with and I wish her success in her endeavors in achieving that. Like we all know, the space is large and wild and she should prioritize her privacy and safety more than any other thing as exactly what bitcoin technology teaches in its real form when invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. For OP to have brought up this, I also feel she has some plans mapped out to achieve it already. If she wish to share more for more advise and guidance it’ll be better as a collective effort and suggestions gives a positive result in the end.

Please, I didn't mention gambling. I am interested in crypto. If it is a typo you can fix it. I know that some people interchangeably use crypto and gambling. I don't think it is correct that way.

Good, I encourage this but as long as it is meet up to facilitate more crypto discussion.
Even tech people meet up all the time. There is a place in the forum called meet-ups for crypto people in a particular location. There should be an agenda though for such meet ups if not it will turn to some gossip center and a waste of time. More women needs to come in to crypto in Nigeria. They need representation and that should be also discussed.

I still dont know why some Nigerians dont like coming to the LB. Because to be honest there are a lot of Nigerian who are out there but have no clue of the local board while others has refused to associate to the local board at all. Well they have the reasons best known to them. Am glad some persons are beginning to join the local board and many will start coming if we actually show them that there is a lot to grab from here.
