Is Bituses.org a scam?

Haven't heard much good about Bituses.org and seems to be a "markeplace" being used for XRP arbitrage with prices well above what other marketplaces are at. Curious if anybody has any experience or knowledge of this company...Also how you might be able to get money out if you've fallen victim.

They are scammers. They will ask you to make a deposit to be able to make a withdrawal and they will finally steal your money.
Just check the reviews on trustpilot.

I bet you were introduced to the website by some strangers on messaging applications or social media. Am I right?

Sorry but it's a scam site if you fall victim there's no way to recover the amount you deposit so better stay away using that exchange.

Typical scam.

Don't take the bait, op. We've seen this happen countless times. After you pass the verification, there will be another requirement and it will go on until they milk you dry.  Take the loss and move on.

Nevertheless, it's a good thing you've only tried with a small amount. Though, it's worth mentioning other scams that actually pay at first to gain their victim's trust. They start locking up funds after a big deposit.

Be safe out there. There are lots of scams. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Crypto is about having the freedom to manage your own funds without relying on any other third party. So, you have to be extra alert and always guard your money jealously. Don't sent it out to any random site you don't know just because they promised you some attractive profit.

Tracing the culprits is almost useless since they are anonymous most of the time.

Unfortunately yes. I hope you haven't lost much. Often such lessons cost people more or less money. Before sending your money you have to make detailed research about website. When you open it, from first glance it looks professional and legit, but when you look deeper, there is enough red flags. Like fresh domain or negative reviews.
And you answered yourself about legal repercussions. This is why crypto is paradise for scammers.

generally speaking, it's likewise impossible finding "great" arbitrage opportunities. even if you find something it could be just temporary.
if a site ask a deposit for you withdraw (whatever is the reason likewise to "verify" your account) this is just a scam. no doubts about this.
don't trust "random" video on youtube... better to ask here in the forum...  

regarding your case, you can try to contact police of your country so at least they can "act" maybe hiding the site.
I am ignorant about XRP I have no idea if these tokens could be tracked... otherwise you can try to follow the traces.

IMPORTANT = AVOID absolutely any offer made by expert and so on. they will just try to make more money from your scam.

You can report the website to its registar but these scammers typically just switch from one domain to another. I would say, education is our best armor, so sharing your story in public communities like how you did in bitcointalk could raise people's awareness.

You could also report this to your cybercrimes dept especially if your country is on the competitive side. It could help in the grand scheme of things IMO. For instance, more reports coming in could make them focus more on similar cases. Bigger cases tend to have more resources poured out as well. It wouldn't be odd if some of these scams are a part of a large crime ring too and your information may help future investigation.

Unfortunately, XRP, like all other crypto transactions, is irreversible. So your chances of getting your money back are really slim.
Sorry for your loss, and sorry for having to say this, but you should have done your own research before sending them money. I'm pretty sure that if you had asked here about this service, most members would have advised against using them.

You can report their domain name to the domain registrar and their website to the hosting service, and they will, hopefully, take it down, as P C suggested above.

Sorry, it is a scam, as you have been told already; you said you deposited 'a small amount', so it is comforting that you didn't lose too much money to these scammers.

We read a lot of similar cases here, and i wish many of the victims had asked about the platforms here first, before depositing, it is usually after they have been scammed that they come here to ask questions. Next time you are unsure of a crypto website or platform, ask about it here in the forum.

I think it is absolutely stupid to believe that just because a domain name is new, it cannot be trusted, lol. With this logic, any old domain name can be trusted? For your understanding, anyone can easily buy an old domain name, so what would you do in that case? See, I don't know if they are scammers or not because I haven't used them you need to try it yourself.

I think it is absolutely stupid to believe that just because a domain name is new, it cannot be trusted, lol. With this logic, any old domain name can be trusted? For your understanding, anyone can easily buy an old domain name, so what would you do in that case? It should be rephrased, businesses with a newly registered domain must be scrutinized before use, because they have not been proven. Certainly, when it comes to investment.
