I predict that if the Ethereum developers are successful in scaling the mainnet, this will cause layer 1 chains similar to Arbitrum and Base to not be as much needed and the development will move to appchains where users will execute their favorite applications. There will be a different layer 2 for trading, lending , gaming and other popular activities in Ethereum.

However, if the Ethereum Foundation wants to be successful in this new mission, they should convince Vitalik to leave his girlfriend and concentrate 100% of his energy to Ethereum similar to 2017 heeheheh.

Ethereum Foundation renews focus on mainnet

Ethereum is like an onion — it’s got a lot of layers. There’s layer 1, aka mainnet, aka Ethereum. There are dozens of layer 2 blockchains, aka rollups. And then we have the so-called social layer.

It’s a fancy term for everyone who cares about Ethereum. And it’s notched some big wins. Last year, activists convinced some of the industry’s largest companies to reconsider their overreliance on a single piece of software, potentially saving the blockchain from a catastrophic breakup.

Now, it seems the social layer has won another battle. It has convinced the Ethereum Foundation to reconsider the path to mass adoption.

The nonprofit is the most important player in the blockchain’s ongoing development. On Monday, its new co-directors said they had three priorities for the next year: making Ethereum more performant, ensuring layer 2 blockchains remain affordable, and improving user experience.

With Ethereum's renewed focus on mainnet scaling, it could position ETH as a more attractive asset during global instability. Instead of the expected crash, we might see smart money flowing into established crypto networks with actual utility.

The thing with Ethereum is that they've lost a lo of investors already, and then they have a lot of competitors as well, that's why they didn't enjoy the support that they used to have before.

And look at today's price, it's way below at -63% of the previous price. So that is huge inflows of money to even stay or reach it's previous high of $4900. Not saying that it can't be done, but with the way it move in the last couple of years, it's very hard to see how they are going to do with with a lot of noises in the background.

No, not yet at least. But it seems Ethereum's development has always been stable and consistent. Its roadmap is clear despite postponements. Regardless of controversies, which Ethereum is not a stranger of, it looks like it has been making significant progress. The fees have been way lower than years ago. Confirmation time has also improved a lot.

The problem now is its price. It has yet to even recover its 2021 ATH. It has been more than 3 years already and Bitcoin and other top coins have already reached new highs, but ETH continued to fail. Even today when Bitcoin is once again approaching a 6-digit figure, ETH is not even halfway through its old ATH. I guess this is the main problem.

I am lazy to read that article because I do not have interest in ether. I just have a question. Is the coming upgrade going to have significant effect on ether fee? I mean by reducing the fee significantly.

With Ethereum's renewed focus on mainnet scaling, it could position ETH as a more attractive asset during global instability. Instead of the expected crash, we might see smart money flowing into established crypto networks with actual utility.
I do not understand anything about this post because it is like it has no meaning. What does ethereum scaling has to do with global instability? This is not a good post.

Good news, I think so many people have underestimated Ethereum at the moment. Yes it is performing quite terribly if we are honest but nothing dramatic has happened to suggest Ethereum is dead or anything stupid. The price is still considerably lower than it was in the 2021 bull run which is a bit embarrassing but I think things will change soon. I predict that the price will be over $5,000 by the end of the year. Nothing good in life comes easily & long term Ethereum holders deserve success if the price does make new all time highs as it’s been tough for them in the last 12 months.

With Ethereum's renewed focus on mainnet scaling, it could position ETH as a more attractive asset during global instability. Instead of the expected crash, we might see smart money flowing into established crypto networks with actual utility.

Also, everyone appears to have forgotten that Blackrock, Vaneck and other very wealthy institutional funds have their ETF for Ethereum that will be the instrument where their clients will make billion dollar twaps. Solana and the other blockchains do not have this heheheh.

They have wasted their chance to be the ETH killer. This new scaling roadmap for Ethereum's mainnet is a declaration of war against Solana. I also predict that Ethereum will have something similar to Michael Saylor of Microstrategy.

Need to see some progress first before bullish toward ethereum.

The thing is, people are hesitant because there's too much drama surrounding ethereum.
If the foundation just scaled the mainnet and keep thriving for better ecosystem, ethereum won't be sitting on current price but instead goes up as good as the other L1 coins.
But there's always rumour that even the foundation keep dumping ETH.
