Extremely grim and pessimistic, to be honest. I agree AI needs to be controlled and we need to be careful with what we do with it and with what purposes, otherwise all this could degenerate into a very dangerous scenario for humanity, specially when comes to human-to -human connection. We will start to grow more apathetic to the feelings of other human beings and only interact with machines.
We are not still within the apocalyptic scenario you are describing which is unlikely to happen, but it is not impossible.

This looks like the Terminator series scenario, so we now need Arnold to do his stuff to stop the robots from taking over. The AI is still in the early or infancy stage; anything that will likely challenge us, we will likely destroy or stop it.
AI is a good tool to enhance and help our productivity, and will stay that way. We are not yet in a danger stage, and if we arrive at the threshold of possibility, we can pull the plug or limit upgrading these AIs.

Everything is in check, AI will not overpower and ruin the world. There is natural check and balance for every actions and inactions. Take for instance AI generated texts fill the world. Robotic surgeons fill the hospital. This will have to trigger the need for human writing and human doctors. By then human doctors will be in hot demand. Human writings will also be in great demand, so people will start learning to be humans again.

So, humans are not doomed. Humans create AI and if it is killing us, we will kill it. So we have nothing to be afraid of. For now, AI is doing great, it helps me in my daily tasks and I am comfortable using it in an ethical way.

AI may has its disadvantages but it has not getting to that extent that it’ll take us back to the Stone Age. I know what you’re foreseeing from this but it looks we are far from that happening now. AI is really taken over everything which should not be so, but should be controlled. We can’t overemphasise to what length AI has been of great use but when we are looking at it in the direction you’ve explained in your post, it really needs to be controlled but things get messy through it. AI can be harmful if it replaces too many jobs, spreads bias or makes decisions without human oversight. It can also be misused for surveillance or even weapons. If we rely on it too much we might stop thinking for ourselves or lose control over important systems. Like any powerful tool it’s obviously risky if handled carelessly.

I think I have seen more than enough posts like this, stating countless disadvantages of AI and how it would impact humans negatively. Can you all use that same energy to discuss the good sides of AI and how it has made jobs easier for humans?

Instead of condemning AI and making it look like a time bomb waiting to explode at its due time, the discussions should be channeled towards effective ways to create a balance between humans and AI to avoid clashes, especially in the aspect of job employment. Humans created AI, so humans alone can regulate its use.

I don't believe that in years to come, the world will become so lawless that AI will decide how things are run and we all get doomed. Regulations would be there to put things in place.

Explain why please. Every ground breaking tech has been disruptive and making some jobs irrelevant. How would this "triggering" even happen? People don't keep data in paper spreadsheets anymore, they don't send physical post about everything or count on calculating something on their head, even thought those were basis for someone's job back in day.

Why would there be need for something made by human hand if AI makes it faster, more accurate and cheaper? And i am not even talking about these current models, even though they have been taking some manual script coding jobs away.

You don't need to do your own research anymore by reading articles, books or news. AIs already summarize everything for you in a matter of seconds. There are many movies in which the AI takes control because humans lose power. You can see these in the films Terminator and the Matrix movie series, but I doubt we will reach scenarios like those.
The humans will ensure that there are plugs to pull when these things may happen.

Humans created AI for assistance not to be the primary source on earth. What is created by Humans can also be destroyed by Humans.
The essence of building a robot is to make work easier, faster, and increase productive in house or in an industry. What will destroy the world is if bad humans get their hands on these technology and use it for negative things.

Possibly the greatest danger of AI is the 'benefits' it might provide for people.

Think of AI robots of all sorts doing everything for people that people want and need. This means that nobody has to work any longer. We all can collect enough welfare money that we can travel the world and do whatever we want.

I feel it’s too late to return to nature.. it’s hard to sleep knowing that X is just a data mining app for Grok/Tesla and we keep feeding it daily with our posts and activities on these apps..
AI literally studies from the information we feed them daily..
Don’t you think it’s way too late to stop it now..?
