Oil doesn't just come out of the ground, cows need to be fed and bred, you need equipment to plow the fields to grow crops.

1.What crisis are you talking about? Economical crisis? Geopolitical crisis(Ukraine, Gaza, India-Pakistan, etc.)?
2.Who is getting freedom? If you are relying on a job and living paycheck to paycheck, then you are not free. If you are deep into consumer debt and you have a mortgage you are not free. Freedom is a philosophical category. Nobody is truly free in a society. If you are obeying the laws and norms of the society, you are not free. At least we don't live in slavery and feudalism, so most of the people have some basic civil rights, but absolute freedom cannot be achieved.

This usually happens where no education and poverty is high here elite peoples buy some their agents and then started their job which bring conflicts and problems on name of religious and divided on linguistic grounds.
Currently, many African and Asian countries are having serious problems due to things like these and its never been easy to fix them because big players never want to give them chance of living with peace and harmony because this could be not ideal situation for their arms industries which are having all weapons for them recently India have $7 Billion deal with France.
Even India is one of the biggest country which is doing good development but still their major spendings going on arms and weapons because this is big market for few countries so they are always playing here dirty games in this region which is now shifting from Afghanistan to other side.

People getting freedom? Are you serious? Life is tough for many people. You can't get freedom when you pay half of your salary in taxes and 1/2 of the rest in rent and bills. It's very hard to escape the rat race and the world is designed to keep it hard. When you work in MacDonalds, despite the fact that store makes tons of money every month, how much do they pay to employees? They pay a tiny amount despite the fact that they make millions. If you want to get a better life, you should become skilled worker, not hard worker without skills. Skills are valued even if they are much easier to do than a construction work. That's how the society works and that's pretty logical.

Well, life is tough for many, but at least people have more choices than before. Slavery was about dehumanization and forced hard work. Not everyone has a choice. People who are born in rich countries, really have a choice but those who are born in poor countries, especially in poor families, don't really have a choice. Many families are so poor that when their kids grow up a little bit, they are forced to start work in unskilled jobs to earn some money, they also don't get a good education and this kills their future. Then their parents get old and they have to take care of them (it's how it works in my country) and this is also a burden on their backs. Many people grow up, start working, then take care of their parents, then they also get older, they have no wife, no kids (who wants a poor man?) and die alone, old and in poverty.
