 A big mistake I was doing in the past was to go over leverage meanwhile my technical analysis is pretty good in my opinion, most of the times I am right on where the market is heading, but because of betting too much leverage, I Was taken out before the real move happens.

It all depends on how are you trading / investing, what is your time frame, what is your goal..
It will vary for everyone, someone who is in the game for the next 5-10 years, can buy now and wait without ever selling.. what if you will need this cash in 2 years? you already have a different plan / strategy than the one that will hold 5 years, so now you need to think on how to manage your risk based on your life.

About Grid trading it is not a strategy it is a bot on spot that automatically buy when the price hits the buying zone as lower price range and sell when the price hits the selling zone which is your upper range. You would need to set them up how many grids you want to run and the profitability depends on how much grid you run.
You can see on the chart the levels of each grids everytime the price hit that levels the bot will automatically buy or sell some percentage of the capital you invested.

Start investing with a small amount of funds. That is not a poor practice of investment, but that’s one way to reduce the risk by investing at an amount you can afford to lose. Invest through DCA, that way you are investing at a regular basis with the same amount of your money. Gradually, when your profits have increased every time you sell, you can start increasing your capital as well so you can accumulate bigger amount of bitcoin portfolio.

It depends on what your hodling period is because buying everything one time is not also a bad idea if you intend to hodl for a very long time. Imagine buying Bitcoin one time when the price was $10,000 and someone that was buying bit by bit from that price never got the opportunity to buy at a lower price than $10,000. You can use your big budget and buy one time then you keep on hodling until we have gone so many years into the future. You will be glad you took that decision. Investing little by little are for those that do not have the money to buy one time or came into the market when the price of Bitcoin is already high. If you are fortunate to get into the market when the price is very low, use that opportunity to accumulate as many Bitcoin that you can. Investing little by little is also a good investment strategy but so is one time purchase too.

I get what you are saying, but theres two sides to that coin. Scattering your cash around can stop you from making bank if prices jump fast. And cashing out just bcause you are in the green a tiny bit? That might screw you outta way more later. Id rather throw down what wont stress me out to start if I really think its a winner.

I do not see anything wrong with putting all the money you budget for buying at the same time. For those who use technical analysis and are good at it, there is something called entry point which is what they see as the best time to enter the market. When you get a good entry point such as during a dip, you can put your entire budget at once so that when price rises, you will be in good profits. Buying small amount and regularly is good for people who wants to hold for a long time and not people who want to trade.

You're talking about investing and not trading. This is what DCA is mostly doing to all of us. We buy little by little in any capacity that we're able and wait until we become in profit and sell that eventually. There are many that even they're in profit, they don't sell because they're looking more for better rewards in the future. And that's their strategy to start with. You're right with that if someone sees this as a better strategy then they should do it. This will even be more effective if the coin that you're buying is none other than Bitcoin.

Don't all in!

In another word, don't use all your money to do anything at one time. Let's separate your whole capital to different parts and use them for different purposes like spendings, emergent fund, investment fund. With investment fund, you have to split it into different parts again.

One part for regular accumulation like with DCA strategy while another part is reserved for dip buys. This way of capital management is very helpful for you to always have available fund for buying dips. It's clearly that how much available fund you have for dip purchase will depend on your available capital size. It's not like how much it is but a more accurate question is how many percent this fund part is in comparison to your whole financial fund and your investment fund.

You don't just buy right off the bat at one time and go all-in, you buy slowly because there's always potential of drawdown but since you can't miss the rally, you already position certain percent of your portfolio into the asset.
I do this frequently with BTC and sometime ETH and SOL because they are all reliable investments due to high FDV and volume.

That is a good suggestion for all traders. Although we have big budget to trade but using small budget will be fine. We can avoid a big lose if the market suddenly change the direction and make us lose.

You just said we need to do "Dollar-Cost averaging" because that's basically the definition of it. You just use lots of words just to describe it, but I believe most here are already using that strategy. What's my opinion? That strategy works especially if you're a long-term holder. For me, that's the safest approach to investing in cryptocurrency. On the flip side, there are some times though where buying Bitcoin at once is a good thing. For example, if you went all in and bought Bitcoin when it was below $20,000 back in 2022, you would end up making more money compared to somebody that's investing $1000 every week or every month.

While DCA is a safe approach to investing, there's also a downside to it which is it might lessen your potential profits especially if you're seeing the market going up already.

Good advice but I have used this strategy on Bitcoin, not on other coins with bad fundamentals or what I call trash coins. Buying regularly allows you to get the average price and to maximize profits is to hold it for the long term but buying directly is also okay as long as the market gives a discount or for example the price drops 50%, if you are just starting out my advice is to focus on Bitcoin for the long term.

It’s called DCA and it’s the right approach if you don’t know how to do technical analysis or you are trading an asset with unpredictable price movements. DCA is the most basic and safe way to minimize risk on your trade because you have multiple price entry.

But there’s an instance that buying bulk will give you the most profit if you purchase at the bottom although this is very hard to achieve especially on crypto that has high volatility.
