The abandonment of nuclear power plants was caused by the fear of an accident and subsequent radiation contamination. But neither wind turbines, nor solar panels, nor tidal stations are simply capable of providing the necessary amount of electricity, as consumption is constantly increasing. Therefore, instead of nuclear power plants, thermal power plants were operating that burned fossil fuels, which caused great harm to the environment. Thats second problem you mentioned. Electrification of transport system requires huge amount of electricity that current power plants cant give and current transmission lines can't handle. One solution of this problem could be decentralisation of energy system where every house would have solar panels and would charge cars directly. But still this is huge expense and solar power is something that can't be counted on 100% of time.

The production of solar panels requires rare earth elements, the extraction of which is very harmful to the environment (however, as well as the production of batteries). In addition, solar energy is too dependent on the climate. Therefore, there is simply no real alternative to nuclear power plants for producing clean electricity without harming the environment. I think the government's plan to use nuclear power plants will be much better and more environmentally friendly.

Nuclear power plants still active well it simply because nuclear is carbon free and has lot of benefit it also efficient without need a sunlight or wind to operate like other reneawble energy, country didnt use nuclear because its expensive and second when there some kind of disaster it is crazy and cannot be forgotten.

But after some kind of war, tariff and other thing Energy could spike at any given time so Nuclear can be an option in my opinion.

Nuclear power plants are very dangerous for our society because they are generating heat as a bye product and our environment will be more warm with it and that is reason many countries are against that . Many countries are searching another source to produce electricity.There are  many radiations are created which are impacting on human health and many other radioactive wastes are generated which are bad for environment and for people. There should be proper safety of people,so I am against that because it has more bad effects .That is generating electricity and we can use alternative of that but we do not want our environment polluted . There are thousands of people who made article at that topic.

Yes, there is a danger in nuclear power plants and we have seen it with our own eyes more than once. But the relatively cheap electricity overrides all this common sense and there is nothing to be done about it.

Europe is doing the right thing by moving towards alternative energy development, but it still cannot increase the capacity that will allow it to feel comfortable.

It seems that some countries that planned not to use nuclear power plants are revising their decisions. Belgium is withdrawing their decision to turn off their nuclear powerplants and Denmark is thinking about building new nuclear power plant.

For some reason some EU countries decided that the cheapest and cleanest electricity from nuclear reactors is not good enough, but this decision is slowly changing.
 

Honestly this is not a good one though cause it's posing more risks to lives in the society, yes we know that this is the best way to generate power to the country but then it's causing more hatm thsn good and for Countries that are revising their decisions about using the nuclear power plants I think they've made a right choice and thus  they've been able to do a recheck that it's not helping the citizens  as well the nation.

Not good enough? This is different from what I know. I've always known that the electricity derived from nuclear power is the best, especially the cheapest. The world is only being cautious to allow it in the wrong hands.

Yes, it's the best source of electricity, and it's sustainable too. Nuclear fuel, uranium precisely can generate power for 3 -5 years or more before it can be replaced and it's cost effective. The only bad effect of it is that it's emissions can be very harmful to the human body and if there is a way it can be controlled, it's definitely an economical and efficient source of energy.

The problem with renewable energies is that they are very volatile. The sun and the wind are always moving, so you get these waves of low and high energy, then low again, and you get those waves, it's just volatility, and then you have to harvest this energy on the high points so it can be used on the lower points. This is the future in renewable energy, being able to save the energy for longer amounts of time, so you would never run out. This technology is being developed and eventually a country will be able to run with 0 nuclear plants active. But right now nuclear plants are still very necessary. Even countries with a very high level of development in renewables could have problems without them. We just saw this in Spain where for some reason they went out of energy, apparently this could have been avoided if they had more nuclear plants. But in any case, the risk of a nuclear plant blowing up is just not worth it, plus all the toxic waste that they generate. Long term the future is renewable and slowly remove nuclear plants.

This is such a problem in our world, with all the rising crisis in every parts of the world, having all these nuclear plants active and running is what we don’t want to hear. I heard over the news of India doing its most to get nuclear plants active, Iran as well is rumored to be on the break and the US is trying to cut in on a deal with them or destroy their efforts. All these doesn’t sound good to the safety of everyone and with the economy of our world declining at a steep rate, it just wouldn’t serve the best of purposes.

I believe that nuclear energy is currently a fundamental pillar of the planet's sustainability. Green energy alone is not enough, as it has certain limitations. At present, this technology is still constrained, which is likely the reason behind the blackout in Spain, according to comments from scientists I read. The entire system collapsed because not all nuclear plants were operational; this could have been easily avoided if they had been active and able to regulate an adequate power supply.

People who criticize nuclear energy often fail to see the real background, it contributes more than is commonly believed. It is comparable to radiation in X-rays for health or radiation therapy for cancer treatment, the benefits justify the risks. You simply cannot eliminate a stable energy source due to its potential dangers in favor of another that is inherently prone to failures.

But this does not mean that I believe nuclear energy should be maintained indefinitely; rather, while investments are made to improve green energy until it becomes 100% stable, we cannot completely do away with other sources at present, no matter how much we may want to.

In the current world, the cost of energy is very high. Therefore, if countries have to solve everything safely and affordably, then it is not possible to do anything without considering Nuclear power. Although it has some positive and negative aspects, it is still suitable for use to meet the needs as needed. Due to the deterioration of Europe's relations with Russia, the price of gas has increased significantly. Now if Nuclear power is considered as an alternative to energy, the cost will be reduced, which will provide financial security for the countries, and the countries will get energy from there as per their needs. Although it costs a lot to maintain it, countries are now reconsidering Nuclear power, even though they have made concessions in some matters.

The fact is that the issue of nuclear power has been a political issue for a long time with some countries like the United States of America ,U.k, Russia, France and Germany having nuclear power plants and still telling and influencing other smaller countries not to be using nuclear power with malicious reasons of these nuclear power plants to be misused by these smaller countries while these so called big boys of the world building and acquiring more nuclear power plants and weapons everyday

This is a good step by these countries because in 2003 they planned to stop these projects due to security concerns and I read at that time political pressure was too much that they had to phase out their plans in 2003 but now after around 22 years they are reconsidering it while at that time they prefer to use renewable sources of energy like wind, solar etc.

But I guess they know have different plans, although Belgium have nuclear weapons on their soils owned by USA, while Denmark is strictly against them, I know weapons are different from the nuclear reactors, but you know all this leads to another thing, so I think in future Denmark will also allow weapons.

Moving towards Green energy isn't easy and got practical issues, for example solar powerplants can't run 24/7 but a nuclear power plant can so to compensate the loss there has to be more solar panels that means high capital cost that should come from the pockets of their own citizen in the name of tax. But the change is starting to happen so sooner or later we might avoid the need for nuclear reactors that is no different from nuclear weapon.

It is highly likely that in the near future they will come up with a technology for producing cheap energy that will not only replace nuclear power, but will also be safe for nature and humans. Previously, no one could even imagine that nuclear power plants would appear, but they exist and continue to exist to this day. Technological progress has a number of advantages, but also a number of negative qualities.

Its the most green fuel of all but it does require its done properly.   Even the nuclear waste can be recycled and reused in energy production to a large percentage though very few countries choose to take that route its possible in Europe maybe elsewhere.

   Germany and Japan have sworn off nuclear in recent years but I agree the trend is towards nuclear.   One important note is the control and safety is paramount and so small nuclear is what Im expecting to emerge in the new age of usage.   Small nuclear reactors have been used in nuclear submarines for decades, its not widely acknowledged by the public as a resource because these reactors were engines used in stealth as part of the cold war but almost all are safely used and powerful.    I hope that trend takes off as its quite viable and fast to build.
