It seems that some countries that planned not to use nuclear power plants are revising their decisions. Belgium is withdrawing their decision to turn off their nuclear powerplants and Denmark is thinking about building new nuclear power plant.

For some reason some EU countries decided that the cheapest and cleanest electricity from nuclear reactors is not good enough, but this decision is slowly changing.

Perhaps they have a power shortage or want cheaper electricity. Jokes apart, Europe is trying to develop its nuclear capability as it could, so it should not surprise us.

I just don't like how the world leaders deprive Africa of the same rights and benefits.

Many dangerous things around us working without any problem so now why talking about nuclear power plants even all understand these are working for cheap electricity which is now important for many countries conflicts and wars creating problems oil war is also at the top so having this always ideal.
Only radiation is not having negative impact on human's climate is also doing serious changes but still in many countries they are cutting trees and also having industries which are not good and ideal mindset working for few things because few are not wanted to give right of having better and cheaper electricity use.
Few big players believe it's only their right to have all stuff others never think or do specially as mentioned Africa which also need many changes but nothing positive happening in long run.

As far as I know, many EU countries are restarting nuclear power projects because the energy crisis is getting worse due to the war between Russia and Ukraine that has not ended yet. The demand for electricity has increased significantly as the AI ​​industry requires a lot of energy to develop.

Additionally, according to some reports, they have found new technology that is safer and more effective. Accordingly, small modular reactors (SMR) are lower in cost, easier to deploy and operate than older models...therefore, European countries are tending to return to using nuclear energy.

It's a case of it is considered bad when they aren't the one doing it we have seen this time without number happening where a power country prevents other countries from have same thing they have just because they have the power to do so.

Moving towards Green energy isn't easy and got practical issues, for example solar powerplants can't run 24/7 but a nuclear power plant can so to compensate the loss there has to be more solar panels that means high capital cost that should come from the pockets of their own citizen in the name of tax. I was just being sarcastic by saying its not good enough because some of EU countries had plan to shut down almost all of their nuclear power plants (Germany, France and possibly more EU countries). Caution is good but countries that have nuclear power plans also have means to guarantee their safety.

Nuclear power is the future. European politicians just went with the anti-nuclear hype as they do with every other hype. No logic is ever involved in their thinking. Now, after years of burning coal and creating unnecessary pollution, they are finally admitting their own hypocrisy. It really is as if all the politicians are basically social media Influencers with an enormous amount of power - always following the hype from their teenage, future voters. Even if its wrong. They care about the votes, their personal profit and social standing. Nothing else.

Government should encourage the people to use Green energy by giving subsidized products and company gets extra perks if they use green energy in their manufacturing or whatever it is. But as I said going complete is almost impossible unless the government can sustain the entire change along with enough capital to bring the infrastructure needed. And Oil is limited which is why vehicles are moving towards electric not really to stop the CO2 emissions because the CO2 created is same as exhausted if they use coal plants for electricity manufacturing and that's still widely used to support electricity all over the world.

That heat is called energy, which is something all power generators aim at creating.

Main problems with nuclear plants is the fact that some of these regions that might seem stable now, could end up having their own trump equivalent running them and becoming unstable.
That creates more changes for human errors. And while storing and managing nuclear power plants has never been safer then ever, things might take a turn under new kind of leadership.

I would recommend watching Chernobyl TV series, as that was pretty spot on description what happens when things go south.
But still, they are safer and cleaner option then coal and other similar plants.

This was a knee jerk reaction after the tsunami in Japan that washed over a nuclear power station and caused widespread contamination. They were simply appeasing public sentiment at the time, but if it is handled properly then nuclear power is one of the best energy sources we have available. It is much cleaner than coal or other sources, giving massive output for a relatively small amount of fuel. It's the sort of energy needed to maintain a "baseline load" because renewable energy can be quite intermittent and changeable (e.g. solar on a cloudy day or wind farms when it stops blowing). There is also talk of mini reactors which may be useful in future and help to give redundancy in certain areas instead of relying on one mega source.

Unfortunately, classic "green energy" does not live up to expectations. It seems that it is not able to cover all of Mankind's needs for electricity. Mankind needs a lot of electricity (especially if people plan to continue developing artificial intelligence and mining bitcoins).

Nuclear energy allows generating large amounts of energy, it is one of the most advanced technologies ever invented by mankind.

At the same time, the Chernobyl disaster (USSR, Ukraine) and the Fukushima disaster (Japan) made people afraid to build new nuclear power plants.

In the future, instead of nuclear energy, thermonuclear energy will probably be developed (although scientists and engineers have not yet managed to create an effectively operating thermonuclear reactor).

Nuclear energy is the net cheapest form of energy, so it will be very difficult to compete  replace or abandon it. The major problem people associate with Nuclear energy is the risk it poses but with proper safety and professional practices in place, it can be manage and risk minimised. Many countries are already using nuclear power plant with no serious issues. More people will join since green energy have shown some weakness.

I agree with you - disaster with nuclear reactor in Fukushima was turning point where a lot of people became afraid that similar catastrophes are possible in their home countries. But turning back to burning coal is not an answer, same as green energy such as wind farms and solar power.

I see only way out of situation in two answers. One is developing fusion reactor, and the other is developing big capacity batteries that would allow storing energy of intermittent power sources (wind and solar plants).

Well, I didn't even know anything about it. I didn't know some EU countries stopped their nuclear power plants. While I was reading this post, I remembered how my country started building the first nuclear power plant with the help of Russia. The government made some deals with Russia, and they imported nuclear power from there and built a new power plant.

According to Wikipedia, the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (Bengali: রূপপুর পারমাণবিক বিদ্যুৎকেন্দ্র) is a 2.4 GWe nuclear power plant currently under construction in Bangladesh. It consists of two 1200 MWe VVER-1200 reactors. Interestingly, the plan to establish a nuclear power plant in East Pakistan was made in 1961.

Thats second problem you mentioned. Electrification of transport system requires huge amount of electricity that current power plants cant give and current transmission lines can't handle. One solution of this problem could be decentralisation of energy system where every house would have solar panels and would charge cars directly. But still this is huge expense and solar power is something that can't be counted on 100% of time.
