UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season

We haven't yet gotten over the PSG victory last night and now we have a thread for the upcoming UEFA champions league season, that's great though.
I will have to say Barcelona were unlucky this season in the champions league as they could have easily been in the final if the referee had not shown some bias regardless Barcelona will be my favorite team for next season.

I'm n̈ot too happy with Inter Milan because eliminating Brcelona in the semi finals raised the hopes of many people, but their performance in the final was a huge disappointment.  Assuming they surrendered and allowed Barcelona to scale through to the final, it would have been very difficult for PSG to win. It's just obvious that PSG were destined to win the champions league this season.

As a big Napoli fan, i’ll say Napoli now that Kevin De Bruyne is coming, and if they manage to bring in a good winger, they can hope for a strong result. I think he and McTominay can do a great job together, and Lukaku can prove that he’s still in top form.

As for another team, i’d say Liverpool could go far next year, and the current champion could do the same. Let’s not forget about Real Madrid and Barcelona either. All in all, i think it’s going to be a great season in the Champions League.

Enrique is one hell of a coach, getting things with the PSG side to this stage of becoming champions of Europe but what seems to amaze me is the manager Enrique saying that among all the teams they played against in the champions league, that the hardest team are Liverpool and Aston Villa, that they are better than Arsenal who battled them in the semi finals, that the Gunners are not better and not even difficult, how true is that? To me it shows that the road to winning the champions league was easy for Enrique and his boys.

For the 2025/2026 season, England is set to represent 6 clubs in the UCL. Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and one more European cup champion Tottenham.  It seems that the EPL team match coefficient adds value which makes the number of clubs more. This condition should be a great opportunity for EPL teams to win UCL. But the dominance of the EPL team does not seem to be able to compete with the Spanish League. Only Liverpool were able to win 6 times and the last 2 years ago was Man City winning against Inter.

Here are some early odds:



Most of them are understandable, but the ones I have problems with:
- Arsenal, way too low in my opinion
- Real should trade places with Barcelona
- Newcastle should be way over in the 40 area

Also, the only bookie that offers betting on the nationality of the winner has England at 1.8, again, way to low compared to Spain at 4.5

I have a problem with Liverpool also there. They were only able to qualify for last 16 the last time. But still they are the biggest favourite.

I agree with your opinion on Barcelona and Newcastle as well. It's unreal Newcastle are ahead of all those teams.

Yes Liverpool looks a bit strange but this is just the bookmaker’s opinion nothing more. I would place Barcelona above Arsenal and Real and I would also put PSG above Real but there is no problem if for example you think Liverpool is weaker because it actually gives a better odds for choosing Barcelona or PSG as the next champion. I doubt that Liverpool is capable of winning the Champions League and I also have doubts about Real because it is unclear how they will play under Alonso. I am not fully confident in Arsenal either they always seem to be missing something but the next four teams in my opinion are quite capable of reaching victory.

I think I understand Enriques point, I don't know why he thinks Aston Villa were tougher than Arsenal but I totally get his statement concerning Liverpool, they couldn't beat Liverpool at home but scored more goals home and away against Arsenal and Aston Villa, that means Liverpool was very tough to score against even though we all know that PSG played better but Liverpool's Defense was too tough that PSG had to win on penalties, Arsenal would been the toughest if PSG won them on penalties but it was easy to beat Arsenal in their home and at Paris. To me I won't say it was easy for PSG cause they faced several obstacles but were more prepared for it than other teams, they brought in a Champions League winning coach and signed younger players that are ready for success than playing for personal interest so it made coaching easier for Enrique since his team was one-minded.

This year I see Juventus as a very good team, like every year they are not the favourites, but with the dismissal of the coach and the management, Giuntili and Thiago Motta, in my opinion they can really return to the high levels where they deserve to be, as for Inter it is better not to talk about it

This happened beyond most people's predictions because we thought the Champions League final for this season could be much more competitive when the Italian team met the French team. This is a final with more goals conceded in modern football and does not show the ideal final as predicted by most people. What makes us surprised is that Inter Milan could beat Barcelona with a champion mentality but was actually humiliated by PSG with such a crushing defeat.

PSG managed to create new history and this is something they have been waiting for a long time. If asked who was quite disadvantaged when PSG managed to emerge as the new champion and people would definitely say Mbappe because when he left, PSG managed to win the Champions League.

While Enrique's comments may be very simple for some, they are certainly not simple for Arsenal. There is certainly a possibility of a reaction to the words. With such comments, he may be raising the image of his team even higher, or he is trying to play a mental game. Some think that his comments will bring the front line to the table because he wants to do it intentionally. If we take this matter positively, then it can be thought that since PSG have lost to good teams, they will definitely do well there. His comments can also be called inspiration for the team. After all coaches usually do not say anything directly through their words but indirectly those words have a different meaning.

Here are some early odds:

Liverpool is the team that I predict will win this tournament in the 2025/2026 season. If I look at the number for Liverpool here 6.50, it's not big and not small.
It is still early to predict who will win the Champions League, but this will make us try to do something fun.
I'm not sure about the Germans, let alone the Italians.
Still just a prediction, England will compete with Spain.

Ain’t no way I wanted it, starting as soon as it ends and yeah this thread did that.
Would definitely want the memories of the Inter Milan 0-5 PSG finals wash away rather quickly as that’s not the UCL finals I’m used to watching. Inter Milan made a shit show of it and PSG didn’t do the reputation of the UCL finals no good either.

Inter Milan made the new season, I’ll like to see Barcelona do me the favors, let’s see how Yamal performs.

Preparing for another exciting season. We will analyze each team for the next season and which team we will be interested in and want to see the champion. Next season may be more competitive and there will be an attempt to gather the best players in the teams. I have seen some differences in PSG this season. Everyone in their team played well and they have a relatively small number of star players. This is a lesson for all teams that a team cannot win a trophy just by having a team with valuable star players. Proper guidance and team coordination are more important for victory.

This is why I will always prioritize having a good attack,  than having a good defense in a team. A team that must win title must know how to score goals. You concede goals...fine, but you should be able to score more goals to win you the game. Congrats to PSG once again. All their spending finally paid off.

The PSG attack scored the games winning goals but it was the attack that contributed heavily to the win, it was the brilliant midfield trio of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz that won that game to me, the switch from them throughout the game was the most exciting thing and the most threatening to Inter Milan, when Hakimi go out for goals there is alway either of the three midfielders always there trying to cover up. Also the usual push up by this same midfield allow Dembele to press Yann Sommer.

One thing I notice that won the game for me was Enrique tactics, Inter Milan are very good at playing out from the defense and also holding the ball this usually frustrate attacking patterned opponents but Luiz Enrique stopped that by making Dembele press Sommer more and forced him to shoot and not pass which usually gives PSG back the ball

In this situation, what matters is the experience and Enrique had the experience because he had done it before in Barcelona. Barcelona is a big team and they also do their best to hire an experienced manager, so what ever Enrique did in his process of becoming champion actually shows that he have the experience. PSG shocked so many football fans because they are recognize with a powerful strength but we don't consider them to be a team that will make you to the final despite their consistent, but unfortunately, they approved us wrong and that was started when they eliminated England team one by one, this was so shocking and this alone makes me build more confidence in them against Inter Milan. PSG came with a force to win the Champions League, once again congratulations to them.

I was not able to see the match but results next morning were shocking to me. A UEFA final ending with a score of 5-0 is hard to digest. PSG has not won any UEFA title so far but I was not expecting that Milan will show such disappointing performance in the final. Milan has beaten Barcelona in the semi finals and I was looking for an interesting final but it was just a one sided show. Congratulations to PSG fans for such a superb win in the final.

I will really sympathize with you because it actually painful, Inter Milan was very strong at the beginning of the season which make them as favourite for most fans due to their courage in terms of playing, attacking, defending and soon, at the beginning inter was labelled the best team that will win everything because they have everything but along the line they decided to disappoint their fans. Actually in their home League I was finding a strong opponent that will stop Napoli which I navigate around and I realize that Inter Milan are the only one that can stop them and since then I decided to watch them closely and I was getting a lot of satisfaction with them which make me support them. But along the line they failed, which they couldn't win any trophy. This is so disappointing, I will advise you to take heart and focus on next season.

Not being happy with Inter Milan right now will change nothing since they already had a bad season following their inability to win any trophy after their outstanding performance in all competition, they have it all against Barcelona both home and away and ensured they qualified for the finals but it's unfortunate that their desire to win the champions league was cut short following their embarrassing defeat against PSG in the finals.

It's understandable that Barcelona against PSG in the finals would have been a different result than what we saw in the PSG and Inter Milan game but I believe nature made everything happen for good in favour of PSG.

This new season's champions league will be tough and I doubt that those clubs who where able to make it into the semi's would get such a chance. Clubs like Arsenal would have to work extra hard if they hope to see even the quarter finals, that's why when they had their chance when they met PSG they should have taken it. Imagine Luis Enrique not including the Gunners as one the clubs to pose a headache to them in their journey to winning the title but rather mentioned the likes of Liverpool and Aston Villa.

I think Barcelona did not play at their best in the semi-finals. I remember Balde and Kounde were injured and Lewy only played in the second leg due to injury. Inter Milan built attacks from Yan Sommer who passed them to the midfielders and Barcelona had a big weakness in their defense. We can see how Barcelona conceded because of the failure of the defenders to anticipate. This is different from PSG who applied high pressure to Inter's back line and midfielders which made Inter Milan unable to create chances. Inter used the same tactics as against Barcelona but PSG's defense was much more solid and the pressure given was much tighter so this made Inter seem like they didn't know what to do. In the final match Inter Milan didn't even have a single dangerous chance. They only hoped for chances from dead ball situations or crosses that PSG could easily anticipate. So from the start I predicted that Inter Milan would lose and PSG would be champions for the first time. But I didn't expect the result to be 5-0.
