[update]Anybody used the PhonePe gift cards?

Currently lots of giftcards are out of stock for our country users on well known crypto accepting gift card sellers like bitrefill. But the PhonePe gift cards are available.

Does anyone have any experience with them? I have not used PhonePe in the past, do I need to undergo KYC to be able to use those giftcards in case I purchase them?

I use only the Amazon gift cards on rare occasions, but I checked phonpe after reading this and they haven't mentioned anything about KYC requirement to claim/add giftcard balance to our wallet. But when I tried buying them using UPI, it ended in errors few times so not sure how reliable they are so it's better to avoid them in my opinion.

I was actually referring to using the Phonepe gift cards obtained from sites like Bitrefill and using that to pay for merchants and all. NonKYC limits at Rs. 10k/day seem decent enough for a regular average joe here.

I might try buying some using bitcoin and see how it goes.

no one asked for kyc

phonepe already has my kyc so they didn't ask for anything either

i even paid merchants using phonepe gc

had no problems

All Amazon Pay Gift Cards have been readily available at the OTC section of @CryptoIndiaUnited Telegram Group at a much better rate though.

Which merchants did you use? I am trying to spend PhonePe gift card balance here. I tried paying at a supermarket but giftcard balance was not shown. Mind you, it had already been added to my account.

I dont have enough trust over OTC deals and deals done on telegram even if the users are legit enough. Hence looking for options to spend PhonePe gift card and any other options too.

i bought it from bitrefill

and next day i went to the grocery store and paid using it

had no problems

just keep the wallet empty of the cash and it will offer to pay from gc

I installed PhonePe and tried to add gc, it asked for pan before I am allowed to add gc, so money you add is still recorded in your pan records. What difference does it make as in if you meant to use gc to circumvent tax records? How is this better than using local exchanges like coinswitch to convert crypto to inr?

Nothing really. I am experimenting with different sources to spend the coins as I wish and trying to find out which ones are quick and easy.

I will keep note of your experience and currently I am also looking for places to spend this gift card balance. Phone recharges are available and I will soon update when I pay my electricity bill and LPG bills.
