We often get cheated through various fraudulent links. It is seen that those who are new to the internet are the most cheated. It has also been seen that many people have been cheated through these fraudulent links and lost everything.
Fraudsters share fraudulent links with various tempting offers on our mobile or computer, which if entered by mistake, we can lose access to our important things.
So we have to stay away from these fraudulent links as much as possible.
Now the question is how can we initially identify a fraudulent link?
Fraudulent links can be identified through various processes, some of which are mentioned below:
1.   The domain of the link given should be read carefully. Many times it is seen that fraudsters have created a fraudulent link exactly like a link to a real website, but there will be spelling errors.

For example:
Quote
The real domain of bitcointalk is-   asktom.cf
Quote
But the domain of the fraudulent link will not be like this, but it may be bitcointaik.org /bltcointalk.org/bitcolntalk.org.
So before entering any link, you should read the domain carefully.

Again, there are many search engines on the internet to identify fraudulent links, through which we can identify a fraudulent link. For example-

🔹Identifying fraudulent links using VirusTotal-
Here 70 plus antivirus engines will check whether the link is fraudulent or not. If most of the engines there say that the link is fraudulent, then you should stay away from that link.
For this, first you have to enter VirusTotal
A “Search” option will appear there.
Paste the link given in the “Search” option.
Below you can see how many engines are saying it is safe.

🔹Verify links through Google Safe Browsing-
To verify fraudulent links through this process, first you need to enter Google Safe Browsing
You need to copy the suspicious link and paste it into the”Search by URL” option to verify it.
Later, from there, you can see whether the link is safe or not.

In this era of information technology, we browse the internet for our various needs, and many times we come across many fraudulent links. That is why it is important to be aware of verifying our links.
Let us browse safely on the internet, protect our information and personal life.

How do you protect yourself from fraudulent links?

All the suggestions here is far are very helpful and will go a very long way for anyone who abides by it, but I have watched documentaries where hackers has allies in network providers and this guys gives the mobile details of people to this hackers and through that means they go ahead to get control of their devices.

The risks is everywhere and even some very secure people can still get attacked regardless of how secure they are. I believe in implementing security measures and learning ways to protect ourselves but I also take cold storage wallet very seriously when securing my wallet.

If people pay attention close enough, they will be able to start to distinguish between the links that are fraudulent from the correct one. Which is a reason why I agree that being knowledgeable plus good Internet habit will save the individual from being the next victim of a fraudulent site.

Oh yeah,. domain phishing is at its peak these days, you can never be too sure. And don't trust google, those paid adds on top seem to always be phishing sites mimicking the real ones, almost indistinguishable.
Best bet, whatever you use often, bookmark it, that way you'll be safe atleast from these google ads.

Thank you for sharing this, I explored it now and it seems good upon checking on a legitimate website.
Sometimes, it is quite hard to identify the scam website because scammers replace the unnoticeable character so that someone will fall into their tricks.

I use this tool too to determine if the website is legitimate or not.  (https://who.is/)
If newly created, I will not click the link, which for sure didn't register website.

+1 for your effort and sharing this.

All the suggestions here is far are very helpful and will go a very long way for anyone who abides by it, but I have watched documentaries where hackers has allies in network providers and this guys gives the mobile details of people to this hackers and through that means they go ahead to get control of their devices.

As people become more aware day by day, hackers are getting more advanced day by day.
Yes, there are many network providers who sell their customers' information for a small amount of money. On the other hand, the systems of some network providers are so weak that hackers can easily access the entire system and use the information from there as they wish.
Some measures can be taken to reduce all these unwanted incidents,
For this, you can use a VPN from a reputable company, use the Tor browser instead of using a browser everywhere, and you can also set up DoH on your computer or Android phone.

To set DoH on Android phone:
Phone settings➡️ Network and internet ➡️ Advance ➡️ Enter Private DNS

The option will appear "Private DNS hostname" Copy and paste the quote below here and save it.
Quote
1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com
Although these will not give you complete security.

The risks is everywhere and even some very secure people can still get attacked regardless of how secure they are. I believe in implementing security measures and learning ways to protect ourselves but I also take cold storage wallet very seriously when securing my wallet.

Does a cold storage wallet mean safe?
You can also lose money from a cold storage wallet. If someone gets their hands on your hardware wallet, they can easily read your SEED. In addition, in cases like theft, loss, or burning, you can lose your wallet along with the money you have.
There have been many incidents in the past that you can find out with a little analysis.

Again, if you buy a hardware wallet from a stranger at a low price, there is a possibility that it is fake. There may be a system here that will send your SEED directly to hackers.

In fact, we are not completely safe anywhere, we have to create our own security, so we have to take maximum precautions.
