BPIP extension wants to modify copy-paste data!

I got this notification in my Brave browser today, from BPIP extension.

Has anyone else using the extension received similar notifications? IMO, it is not safe to give that permission as a lot of us copy-paste wallet addresses on a daily basis.

I don't use extensions but we cannot be too sure and just give permissions to  anything.. I'll advice you clear your browser and reinstall the extension instead of accepting that permission... It's better safe than sorry..

I do also use brave browser it's one of the most secured browser I've seen. Although I don't use the extension. But yesterday I saw Bpip was down for a time. Ig it's goes for an maintainance and the owner made some changes of it. Although didn't heard of the new changes about it still.

At least it doesn't show in BPIP Firefox version. Probably a new required permission for Chromium based browser for extensions having such a feature on BPIP?

Accepting such permission means you trust the developers of the extension, where most probably it only works in asktom.cf so no need to worry.

I could be wrong, but isn't that for that extension feature where one is able to copy ratings from anyone's trust summary to clipboard as BB codes.

The permission is also present on Google Chrome; I just noticed it now. I trust the developer of this extension, so I'm not concerned.

I also strongly agree with logfiles, as this permission could be linked to enabling the "Copy post to clipboard" feature of the extension.

Yeah, Brave Browser is chromium based so that's sort of expected just like Microsoft Edge. What's awkward through is that Opera Browser is also chromium based but when I checked with the old extension, it's still working with no issues. (the notification came up on Opera browser as well though via the old extension)

Even the uBlock Origin extension is still working perfectly, though I just have preference for Firefox.

I got this notification in my Brave browser today, from BPIP extension.

There is a simple solution for this issue, just switch to Firefox (librewolf, zen etc) browser if you want to continue using BPIP extension.
Brave browser is based on chrome browser and in future many extensions will stop working same as it happened with chrome.
