Welcome to Ligue 1 football pool thread. This is new addition to my pool of football pools   So let us see how familiar you guys are with the French league.

How this pool works
For prediction, we will use Superbru page and we will have complementary discussion topic here on the forum for participants only. Superbru has been around for years and they are very good at providing custom pools for all kinds of sports. The idea of the game is to predict correct scores from all the games which gives you max points (3). If you get outcome correct but not the score there is still some points awarded (1-1.5). The winner is the person with most points at the end of the season.


Buy in
This is a paid pool and buy in is set to 0.25 mBTC, just over 30$ at this moment. This seems like a very fair price for a whole year of prediction fun + nice prizes boosted by our sponsor. All the collected money will be used for prizes.

Funds:
We have 5.5 mBTC from buy ins (22x0.25)
and 1500USD sponsorship from whale, to be paid in BTC when pool ends as per rate at that day, facilitated by icopress

Rewards
1. 40%
2. 25%
3. 15%
4. 10%
5. 5%
Highest yellow cap - 5%

Remarks:
*There is no sharing of the prizes, Superbru has implemented tie-breakers and I will use their final table as basis to pay out rewards
*All the fees will be paid from 1. place reward

note: this is temporary escrow addy for this pool. If you play my La Liga and Serie A pools you will notice it is the same one. I am currently on vacation without access to that wallet so can't provide dedicated one before I get back home. This probably makes it even better since you can now pay for all 3 pools in tx. I will move the money on dedicated escrow addy when we start the pool so I don't mix funds from different sponsors but that is just a technicality which will save us something on tx fees in the end.

I agree with this. I only know about 6-7 clubs in the league and rarely watch their matches so this will be very challenging.
The playing field may not be so level, we may have some players who are very familiar with it.

Oh I am so, so going to be badly fked by this new pool. Of course I'm playing, just give me a bit of time to pay up. Can't say I follow it any more than German football (it's actually English>La Liga > Serie A > Championship that I follow, in that precise order) but there's nothing like winning even more bragging rights versus familiar faces. When I thought that if someone is going to make Ligue 1, I was sure that I'm going to skip it - it's already enough pools for me. But how I can skip football fee here, especially when buy-in is just $30. Let's f*cking gooo!
It's only a bit scary to imagine how Superbru page is going to look for me during weekends. If my maths is correct, we will have to make 60 predictions during weekend, if we count Bundesliga on Kicktipp too.

I totally agree! But with the difference that the league also has Marseille, Monaco and Lille who can fight equally for the title.

Considering also that we have $50 bonuses for each round, it looks even more attractive!

Trofo, count me in on this one too. I'm seriously starting this new football season with La Liga, Serie A, Fantasy EPL, and now the French league. Not quite a fan of the league, but where there are good rewards, I'm always in.

Was thinking this new pool would start slowly but there is already 7 of us in it. Those numbers are comparable with Serie A at this point which is quite good. I guess people like to try out their luck at something new and smaller buy maybe helped as well.
