I disagree on this, short replies are always direct and straight to to the point and most forum members prefers short posts, they often carry more quality. Most lengthy post usually discouraging to read through and most times they deviate from the point they are trying to make making it difficult for the audience to understand.

-Posts in quiet threads may never be seen — post where readers hang out.

What do you mean by quiet threads? Your post will be seen anywhere in the forum I even believe posts in mega threads are easily missed. Doesn't matter, quiet or busy threads if you have contribution to make you should.

Im not agreed with short repliea doesnt help at all. Some users are able to shrink up their post to a shorter version making it more a lot of sense when you are putting up a response. Spam is inevitable but always understand that some short messages are the one needed instead off long wall post

You don't need to post in quiet threads unless it's absolutely necessary, which it isn't, most of the time. There are plenty of active threads and discussions available at all times.

Copying is not allowed, but you can always quote yourself or others for reference, and then add your part on what point you are trying to make about what you've quoted.

Thank you for the tips! I am also a newbie and this is really helpful. So far, I have been lurking in the "Meta" and "Beginners & Help" Boards trying to understand the rules and looking for some guides. I will keep this in mind when I make my first few posts.

I guess you are very much in the right track by firstly making much of your time navigating the forum by making reading first to enable you get information that will lead you in to making relevant posts after understanding vital rules and regulations of the forum, when I started I was too hasten at first but later I realized that I have to slow down where at some point I spent almost 3 to 4 weeks only on reading without posting after which when I started posting I found out that there was lots of differences both in my posting skills and the value of my posts, you are welcome to the family I wish you the best and am optimistic that I will see at the top.

It is indeed a bit time consuming, and it requires a good amount of effort as well. Sometimes the amount of information is overwhelming as a newbie (like understanding how activity and merit works), but I think that it is necessary to learn. I've always thought that it is common knowledge to do my own research first. From what I have seen so far, I think the community is very helpful and accepting of newbies, and I really appreciate it.

Hello, thank you for your observationand response, I really appreciate. This were just my taughts as newbie in this platform and I felt like sharing it here. My bad if it felt like an AI generated content, that was not the original intention. You aren’t just simply posting here, but you are posting to educate or share valuable insights and information to the forum members, that’s why you have to make an effort and do further research as much as possible. That way, you know you are making a quality post, something that majority will learn from your post.

Also, short replies do not mean your post will be wasted. There are short replies that are enough to educate and convince us, rather than those long posts who are beating around the bush, and in the end, the main thought wasn’t even clearly conveyed.

Besides, long post or long messages are too tiring to read, that’s why a lot will skip on it and chose another thread. Even myself, I don’t go for long post except if the topic alone is quite interesting or is making quite a thrill for us. But majority still don’t want to take time to read, so the post will only go wasted.

But nevertheless, I also won’t agree that the shorter the post, the better. It’s not how short or long the post is, what matters the most is the content of the post, and it should be quality and comprehensive.

Short replies don’t help, that is a big lie. Only the beginners are trying to post as longer as they can just to prove their point, when in fact it can be briefly summarize and make a more concise and precise post.

There are no quiet threads in the forum, as long as people reply on it, then it denotes a healthy discussion. But there are low quality threads out there, and people find it a waste of time if they reply.

And as always, plagiarism is not allowed in the forum. Either you copy paste or plagiarize a post and make yourself known in the forum, and eventually get banned permanently and lost chances to be part of the community.

This is a powerful reflection, and I believe it highlights one of the most misunderstood aspects of Bitcoin's early days.

Bitcoin wasn’t launched with a big marketing budget or airdrops — it was an experiment in decentralisation. In 2009, no one knew it would become what it is today. The idea of giving every human 1 BTC sounds fair in theory, but in practice, there was no central authority or funding to make that happen. Good find. Since you were the one who discovered it and you're not tagging him for now, I'm going to do the same. I think that if his AI-generated posts are deleted, he'll have enough to think about changing his behaviour.

Your post can be short and simple but what matters is how helpful it's to the reader than just writing a wall of text just to make sure you have put something on the surface here doesn't really mean anything.
You can as well earn merit by just relying "Good" than writing garbage and expect to earn merits, if you look at most people they love using few words to express their feelings and meaning. I was doing that before by trying to improve on quality post without knowing I am just twisting the whole things to the readers.

Short replies cannot help someone? If a user reply shortly by typing "Click on the site, upload document, click proceed that's all" isn't that user helped someone? But the reply is short.

It is great when you create a post or write as if you are helping someone, but please note that it shouldn't be long-winded or complicated, it needs an easy-to-understand explanation (this is especially to help newbies), and it must be on point (short, clear, concise), so that it will be very useful and not make people lazy to read it, especially if it is very long and too much small talk. Those are some additions from me.

Depending on the situation, if a post is quiet or hasn't had any replies in a while, and we happen to have an update related to the thread title, it is actually okay to post it (as long as it is genuinely useful and up-to-date).

Of course, there is no point in copying from a post we've already created. If we want to add something, it is best to reply to the thread or post we've already created to avoid appearing spammy. While original thinking is also necessary, but we know that most of what we find has a source, so it is best to cite the source when creating a post.

You are actually right mate, short reply are often seen as spam without good meaning especially those ones like hello, hi, yes dear. Good one, etc. infact many people are old here but they can't still figure out this things. I also agree with you that original thinking matters. Because you must need to be natural in explanation than just following the leed. Some kind of self examination and proper research needs to be done to improve such person to not depend on AI.

But nevertheless mate you can never know everything at once before coming to the forum, you must need to be part of the forum to understand your lapses and what to correct.

What the difference in lengthy post's that is full of repetitive words or wall of text, if just a straight forward answer even if is in few words, the most important thing is to convey a message in your comments that helps other's.

Are you actually talking about short replies which lack real quality to convey the real or intended meaning and message?? Or you mean just making your statement short but meaningful?? We all know of a fact that in this forum, that the length of your statement or reply does not really matter so long as it provides real and complete information which can serve as a guide to someone or a solution to an existing point. So it's not the size of Grammer that matters, it's the quality. Unless your replies are too short or over abbreviated and lacks the ability to pass out meaning to the reader, else, the community is open for short replies full of experience.

Secondly, there might be quiet threads, yea. But then, no knowledge is a waste. Every board has its own purpose. Every thread has where it belongs. So that when I feel like learning something or want to say something related to such board, I will easily go there and make my own contributions or get the knowledge.  I can't possibly create a topic that is  meant for gambling sight in the Begginers and help board. That would be wrong of me. So, the thread where you post depends greatly on what you want to post.

Of course the forum is quite different from social media because there are things that you would easily do in the social media and go free without any punishment, but in this Bitcointalk forum there is a big rules and regulations that is govern everybody. That is the main reason why is always said that newbies should always settle down and go through the rules and regulations before any other thing because that is the easiest way for newbies to explore without getting into troubles.
