They may not b expensive. It depends. Some will asked you the amount of the money lost to know if they will further. I think they may not demand more than 10% of the money from you after the money has been recovered.

Most recovery services online are scam. 99.99% of them are scam.

I don't think there is any legitimate recovery service out there, every single one of them are scammers.

That has to be a scam, if you lose your crypto to scammers and you are trying to recover it through a service, you are going to be scammed a second time and as many times as you send them money. Maybe you should provide us with more details: did you lose crypto? And are you trying to recover it? How much are the scammers charging you?

I don't think there is any legitimate recovery service out there, every single one of them are scammers.

None of them can be trusted because they are scam schemes that rely on pessimism of people losing their cryptocurrences. Those services ask for payments in advance or to share the private keys which can be used to steal the rest of the funds.
Another reason to not believe those services is that they all pretend to have some non real skills like hacking the blockchain or tracing transactions, which are impossible missions without cooperation with legal institutions or sharing sensitive data.
Most important is the lack of regulation that makes it easy for scammers to disappear after getting money without providing any real solutions.

Credential usually implies custodial wallet/service, so people better contact customer service of such custodial wallet/service rather than unknown third party. For non-custodial wallet, recover usually ask for your wallet file.

You're right, it's the only service that has a reputation, although it also has its price. As for the price, for anyone who finds it expensive, try it yourself - there are various free tools that you can use to brute-force a forgotten password or scrambled seed words.

Its just another scam so if you don't like to lose your money for two times in a row you better not trust those crypto recovery services since most likely their main intention is to get your money and not to help you.

There are lots of information like this you can found online so if you want to learn more about this type of scam you better do research.

Much better if you exert more effort and try to fix things on your own. Rather trusting those shady services so don't try to be a easy victim for them, be vigilant always on the offers you see anywhere because you don't know the intention of other people online.

Not sure why for a legit recovery service (I don't have an idea if there is), but obviously, and let's assume already that being expensive should be reasonable for someone who invests their time to enhance the skill in that kind of service. It's crucial.

You are right on this one crypto wallet recovery service is not that expensive they are adorable, and I have once came across a crypto wallet recovery service here in this forum with the name keychainX if am not mistaken.  I was privileged to asked their representative fews questions on how they redender their services to their clients and what their representative said was really convincing shall, but that's by way.  so I also ask their representative concerning the payment aspect, and if I can remember vididly I think he or she said that they charge either 10% or  20% of what their clients have in their wallet. And Concerning the upfront payment their representative also said that they don't ask for payment upfront and that if any crypto wallet recovery service ask for payment upfront that the crypto wallet recovery service is a scam.
