Make Una Dey Delete Unused UID Number/Address in Your Exchange Addree Book'

E no good to keep someone UID Number or bitcoin Address in your Bybit account, mostly for those wey dey sell coins to local vendors. Some people dey send coins to vendors through UID or Address which is already saved in the exchange address book and what they do is to go straight to the address book and click the UID number or the saved address and send the coins. IF YOU MISTAKENLY click another person UID number or address on the list and send the coin and you don't know the person. Then your coins are gone. This one na avoidable mistake. When you withdraw coins in Bybit the receiver's UID/Address automatically saved so always delete am if you don't know di persn or evn you know am.

Just like what happened to me recently. I bought something online through Social Media Platform and I paid the person with bitcoin and paid through the UID address, after that purchased some weeks later, I was about sending coins to someone which the address (UID) was also saved in the address book of the bybit, and I clicked on the guy whom I bought the thing unknowingly, but I cross examined the uid number and it was not the particular one I wanted to send the coins to so I had to manually typed the number/address before I sent the coin to am.

after that day I have been looking for a way to delete/remove all the address which I don't know the owners from the address book list and finally I got it. And I decided to share it here so others can also learn and avoid the mistake. You might sent coins to address unknowingly /mistakenly and you will lost the coins if you don't know the person.

Follow the Steps to Delete/Remove the UID/Address

For PC.
Click on Assets on the up right hand side.


Click on Withdraw and click on Add.

And you will see all the addresses there and you click on delete on the address you want to remove.


And a box will pop up click confirm.


For now it is Bybit and it works in pc.

What I know is that if I have addresses saved or not, or the exchanges saved it or not, all I will still prefer to do is to copy the address the user sent me and paste it where I want to withdraw the money. This is very important. People that fall for addresses poisoning are making similar mistake of not copying/pasting address.

This can be avoided by labeling your wallet address using "remark", this help you identify the name of wallet address or the person UID so that anytime you want to withdraw, you will see the name written in bold. I do this with some accounts I frequently send coins to in other to avoid frequent verification for withdrawals.

You can also use your mobile App to delete or add/remove UID and manage wallet address.

On your mobile App, click on Withdraw, then select any asset,

 

Select address book, Click on on-chain to either edit wallet address or delete the one you are no longer interested in. You can also change internal transfer details of UID, email and mobile number.

What's there for copying the crypto address or UID number of the person as new, each time you want to send crypto coins to them.

Some times wey d create problems for ourselves when there are easy and simple way to do things without thinking of saving them up. We know say crypto addresses are difficult to crame, but they are very easy to copy. Why don't you copy and paste them, to save yourself from failing victim of change address or UID number.

Well what you are saying can happen but is only when the person is too lazy to follow the due safety method when sending to any vendor because ordinarily someone is not supposed to just go to there save UID numbers or wallet address to pick anyone and thinking they are sending to there vendor so actually dealing with this people even if there are saved pop up avoid it and make sure they send you there wallet address all the time you are transacting with them because some people usually make some mistake when there vendor ask them to send it to there usual account and that is were this can happen.

It is important that we understand the way we could always be playing safe when it comes to assets and how we often make our transactions, because we can't afford to make a silly mistake that may cost us our entire bitcoin into loss, I have also been observing on this, whereby it occurs in many instances that when I wanted to send a transaction using internal transfer, I got to receive some of my previous UIDs being suggested and if you're not careful, you may just ended up using them and send to another user you never intended to be your recipient, so I will also support that we always clear the history of previous UID we have used and ensure we copy the intended one, there are many ways one can lost their crypto assets once they are not informed.

I wouldn't advice anyone to save any address as a beneficiary on any exchange. It is not a local Fintech bank or traditional bank app.

So what happens to manually copying the address or UID of the person you wants to send the coin to and execute it immediately? Because indeed that's the perfect way to avoiding such mistake. Because if I may asked, what on earth will make a user saved a Bitcoin address or either UID if the address is not a frequent address he usually sends coin too. Because even me myself, I have developed this habit whereby any time I want to send Bitcoin from my non custodial wallet to my exchange account, I always make sure to copy and paste, in other to avoid stories that touch.

I don't save address or UID on any exchange platforms even while with my service I don't save because there are chances of making big mistakes which could lead to lose of funds, I could remembered a friend also share similar stories where they wanted to send out funds and mistakenly send it to the wrong address abi UID which I found it not funny at all because when dealing with finance it's important to always check from the owner to send back their current address or UID to perform transactions before making payments to them. And of course it's good to always delete already saved address and it also good to always cross check addresses before sending out payment.

Since I have made a mistake sending money to the wrong account number through fintech bank account, I no longer reuse the account in my account anymore.
Anytime I want to make any crypto transactions, I just have to recopy the address from were I want to send it to and continue the transaction. It won't take me more than a minute to do that.
Mostly mistakes people makes is just as a result of laziness and nothing more.

I never hear case when person sell coin to vendor when him no know.
But how you go sell coin to vendor for exchange when you no know the through UID number of the exchange? Walahi I never hear this kind talk before and I go like make op clarify me so I go understand how person go do like this when him no know the vendor to him house. All the coin I don trade, na through P2P method I dey use. Nothing like UID. Abi na so dey don dey do am now?

It's all about making mistakes bro...
There's a possibility you might try to copy a vendor's unique identifier (UID) because you're used to trading with them, but then mistakenly copy another vendor's ID without verifying it because you already trust the source... this will eventually result in a loss.
The intent of this warning is to highlight this risk, It is better to always request the address every time you're about to carry out a transaction, scan or copy/paste, and then verify it before sending out your funds. That shouldn't be a hard thing to do for your money

You are absolutely right, those who fall into the trap of information and copy/paste addresses are likely to make such mistakes again and again. The issue is actually a psychological one because if anyone take some time to write the address slowly and then use it or use it seriously, they can avoid major losses. His experience will be a lesson for many. Many may not know that UID/Address can be deleted from Bybit Address Book. Since this facility is there, it is reasonable to know and use it correctly.
