But today, a court ruled that a Fed governor cannot be fired without strong cause, meaning without a clear basis and crime. You know, the rate-cut vote will be in the next 2 days. Right now, Bitcoin is holding firm between about $114,000 - $116,000. In addition, spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen $642 million in new money in five days,. Overall, institutions are in favor of transparency, and the Fed is coming under a bit of political pressure.

An interest rate cut might affect the price of Bitcoin positively since more money will flow into the economy as borrowing will become cheaper. Investors would also invest more in
making riskier assets like Bitcoin, causing the price increase.

Newly revealed documents show that Cook described the Atlanta condominium as a “vacation home” in a May 2021 loan estimate and as a “2nd home” in a security clearance form later that year, Reuters reports. Experts said would undermine claims of mortgage fraud.
Property records also indicated that Cook never applied for a tax break that would have only been available if the Atlanta property had been listed as her main home.

Sacking Lisa Cook might increase the chances of cutting rates this month, but the right thing should be done. There has been no evidence that she committed any offence that warrants removal.  Trump is simply intimidating Federal Reserve governors to do his bidding.

Is anyone surprised by this? Trump also wants to fire Powell and cannot, even though he appointed him. Apart from the 'independence' of the FED, which serves it well in these cases, what is clear is that Trump cannot act as both judge and jury. It will be the judges, after a trial with the appropriate safeguards, who will have to decide whether Cook can be dismissed or not.
