Well, I composed this as suggestion to help vulnerable members who failed to take precaution of one of the most important security tip. I will divide this into two sections;

1. Wallet security
2. Physical/Personal security

1. Wallet security: Since people are aware you hodl bitcoin you should be strict with your wallat security. The following suggestions should help;

a. Use Multisig Wallets: Of course you know that in multisig wallets, multiple private keys are needed to sign transactions before the coin can be used or spent. This will help prevent prevent a single compromise or coercion from draining all your bitcoin asset.

b. Segregating Holdings: splitting holding can also be of help. Store large bulk in cold, hidden storage and then keep a small portion on a hot wallet for day to day transactions this way, if you are ever forced to send some coins only a small portion of it will be at risk.

c. Diversify Brands of Hardware Wallets: Some coins can be stored in Trezor while the remainder can be stored in Bitbox as the case maybe. This way, bug or an exploit in one type will not compromise everything.

2. Physical/Personal Security: As we all know, robbery is always associated with physical assault, so here are some suggestions that may reduce the possibility of such occurrence.

a. Install security devices such as CCTV cameras, alarms, motion sensor, etc as this will help you track strange activities around you.

b. You can also employ trusted security personnel or bodyguard if the threat level justifies this, especially if you are a public figure.

c. Also ensure to keep you location and travel plans undisclosed in order to reduce profiling by potential attackers.

d. Should there be any need to relocate from your existing neighbourhood? Please do, your potential attacker might just be your next door neighbour.

Move to a relatively safe country if you live in a country with a very high crime rate. There are many rich people living in the developed countries. They all don’t hire bodyguards or act super paranoid. They live like a normal person. You can keep living the same way if your surroundings are safe enough. If not, just change your location. like @mindtrust has stated clearly, it becomes a big deal that you hold a certain amount of bitcoin when you are living in an environment that has security concern and houses so many financially down people, for that reason, it becomes easy to feel threatened when people know that you own a substantial amount of bitcoin. even in a less developed country, there are areas that you can stay and still remain safe regardless of the amount o coin you hold.

The idea is always to move into an environment that has a lot of rich people so you can easily blend into them. if you are the richest person in your environment, then you should consider leaving that environment for your safety even if you do not hold a substantial amount of bitcoin. if people know you hold a substantial amount of bitcoin, it only calls for more vigilance and if necessitate a change of environment which serves as a safety tips.

You need a strong password for your wallet, and add an extra passphrase for it. The passphrase needs to be backed up separately with your wallet mnemonic seed and it plays like an extra security, somewhat like a co-signer as if anyone only gets your wallet mnemonic seed, it's useless as to access that exact wallet, a passphrase is mandatory.

c. Diversify Brands of Hardware Wallets: Some coins can be stored in Trevor while the remainder can be stored in Ledger Nano x as the case maybe. This way, bug or an exploit in one type will not compromise everything.

The highest form of security you can give yourself is living a private life as much as you can even to your closest guys. As it's often said "people can't attack or kill what they don't know*. Much of what makes people become a target of attack and hack from the crypto space is due to their financial worth exposure to the public domain.

You can make use of these higher level security devices to protect your coins but if you're someone with a big mouth it wouldn't guarantee your physical protection as you can be kidnapped and be requested access into the wallet.

As a new Bitcoin investor, I may not be holding a lot of Bitcoin at the moment but I know the little I'm holding is worth something so I kinda like keeping my life together and private for obvious reasons and that's security, but if my any chance my little secret gets out in the open then I'd panic because almost everyone knows about Bitcoin and its value and all eyes (bad and good) are going to be on me, at this point i would create a scene pretending that i have lost my Bitcoin investment and i will make it believable and if i was know to be a money spender i would change my lifestyle to match my cooked up story.

Mate even though I understand what you said which I know they aren't bad advise to anyone but at the same time we have to prevent ourselves from being exposed to attack and how do we do that, we do that by living a life that has nothing to do with show up and again keeping somw secrets to yourself alone or if necessary to your partner which is your wife or husband as the case may be not girlfriend or boyfriend I have my reason for this.

Let me react directly to the op, first off, what led to anyone know that an individual is hodling, I think it might be a kind of show off or may be individual life style, if someone decides to leave a private life and his or her things they way anyone won't get to know anything about them then how people know that he or she is hodling many coin, in this case your advise comes in but that doesn't not guarantee your own safety it might guarantee your coin safety not yours because at this point you don't know the caliber of persons that have this information about your hodlings whether they can do anything to ripe you off those hodling by any means even though it has do with talking life, this is more reason why our hodlings should be kept very secret.

Not many people know about my Bitcoin and I really trust those who know my Bitcoin. They will not expose to other people because they are committed to their promises. But I always change my secret place to another secret place or it will stay for some time if that place is still safe.

I don't want to feel paranoid securing my Bitcoin because I can save without anyone knowing anymore. They just know that I only have a small balance of Bitcoin and do not tell my biggest amounts.

What do you mean by to be humble about it? OP said if people already know that you hold a lot of coins, there is no room for humbleness here, starving people who will go any lent will even see you as a easy target because you are very humble.

That humbleness can be a weakness too, the best solution is to take your leave from such neighbourhood and change your phone number, to as far as you can to another location.

Your first mistake is exposing too much to the world, but it is still fixable unless you already build your house in such neighbourhood, which will be the only reason why adding extra security to your daily life is the last busstop.

If people know that I have been holding multiple coins, including Bitcoin, then there is a risk for me. There is definitely a risk for my movement, especially. If terrorists or kidnappers know about my coins, then they must kidnap me and want me to be a Bitcoin to me as a ransom. Maybe I would prefer to stage a fire outbreak in my house and tell them that I lost my keys. I prefer it because people might wonder why you should have your keys on a boat.

This question came to my thought, why are there no attacker on crypto companies announcing their reserve funds, we haven't heard any news that such companies doing reserve are attacked by criminals but we heard individuals are mostly the victims of this.

Anything that bring you profit business or investment is very important to be keeping it secret, because that is the only thing that can keep you self and your money or coin, not everything you have you says out you need to be wise because sometimes people that you trust are the one that can betray you and steal from you not everyone that smile with you are happy with what you have. some are just doing it so that you won't notice that they don't want you to succeed. If you have bitcoin that is a wealth and anyone that knows you very well and you told them you have bitcoin in your wallet, that is when you will notice some are looking for you always to make tight friend with you so that they can benefit what you have and some will like to destroy you to achieve what you achieve.

keeping things secret is very important because if you didn't says anything know one will no what you have in your wallet and you will definitely be growing everyday.
