We all have to slow down on the responsibility issue because you will only end up being bankrupt and even your family members especially siblings will all be fine by themselves, slow down on how you spend your savings and you will be shocked to see that your siblings are capable of taking care of themselves perfectly. At this point of your life you are still struggling to find your feet and you don't need too much responsibility if you really don't want to continue the circle of poverty, your parents should be your responsibility only if they are old and can't take care of themselves but it should be a team work with your siblings some times, in Africa we think it's the job of a first child to take care of everyone and thereby making them fall in their investment because of family bill. Every first child should take care of themselves first and find their feet before family billing can come in.

Welcome back buddy, I can relate to your story because I'm a first born in my family too and life haven't been easy adding up to the harsh economy. I love my family and I would do anything to make their life better, my parents have been my pillar since I was a child they trained me through school and the least I can do for them is to take care of them when ever I can and my siblings are looking up to me as well so I can't afford to disappoint anyone of them, my siblings and I were raised with love and I know they wouldn't abandon me in my time of need too. I know how it feels being a first born as it often comes with plenty responsibilities and in today's economy that is tough, it even feels harder because as the First born you're expected to provide and support others while trying to work on your own self. Dealing with all those roles are so overwhelming especially when resources are very limited, no matter what it still shows the sacrifice and strength. First born carries  a heavy weight that I think many may not see, but shapes both the family and their future. I mentioned their future because definitely there are also going to have their own families someday so all the responsibilities and other commitments builds them morally and even mentally for whatever is to come. Most times, it's traumatic and very stressful that you may even think the best way is to just give up and let go because the economy isn't encouraging and things aren't going as you plan or want it to go.

It's good to have you back but regarding the hardship of the economy everyone has been battling or coping with it in one way or the other which isn't an easy one. It's never easy being a firstborn. Your parents would always have high expectations for you, thinking that you would take care of your little siblings when they are gone. First born especially male borns in the African culture is regarded as part of the stakeholders of the family. It is always a heavy task for the first sons to meet up the responsibility at when due especially when grown above teenage and the parents are financially struggling to provide for the family or when parent are no there for any reasons, the grown up one will have to take charge. What I can say is that you are truly a good child, someone who never forgets their responsibility to their parents and I really respect you for that. I also believe that God never allows challenges in our lives that we cannot overcome.

Rather  now you are in a place where experience  reality  and a sense of responsibility have prepared you to start anew. The biggest lesson in investing is patience  discipline  and making decisions based on understanding risk. The way you struggle in life  you are already practicing these three qualities every day.

Where do you start from now? First  try to stabilize your life a little. Even if you have a small income  start saving little by little from there. Not only in Africa, but if you are the firstborn in any region, and you have the responsibility, you must take care of your family. I myself am a firstborn, and I have a sibling. My father died when I was just starting a new job. I had to pay the debt and educate my little brother. My responsibility should have been done once he turned 18. But in reality, I spent over $10K building a house for him, his wedding, and even tried to give him a start-up. He wasted a lot of money, which he didn't even earn. I have children, and my wife always asks me why I am wasting my money on my brother instead of doing something for my children. Life is a never ending battle. There's nothing to do except keep fighting. Some people are facing struggles and difficulties, while others are living on easy mode. Life isn't fair and complaining about harsh conditions won't solve the problem.
