Do what works for you not what someone else tells you worked for them, people have different ways of handling addiction some stop it and some reduce it, other even find an alternative to their addiction to help them cope, for gambling I'm not sure what can serve as an alternative but you can choose to stop or reduce how much of it you do, you don't even have to stop immediately, doing that can be difficult instead try pulling away gradually with time, this way you can apply both strategies, reducing how much you gamble until you are finally able to stop completely.
You just need to understand that this things take time, more for some than others so don't be in a rush, slow and steady.

Yes it can, if only the gambler himself would be able to stick to his decision because decision matters alot in gambling. The truth is that, don't allow gambling to control you because it's only when you over look gambling that it'll become a problem for you. Though, as gambler that is surfering addiction, the best way to overcome it is stopping it at once because sometimes gambling can be tenting and immediately you go back, it will be very hard for you to realize. By then you would definitely ended up into another addiction.

Stopping gambling completely is actually one of the best ways to learn and heal from the gambling addiction but it cannot be possible until you as the individual gambler truly means to leave it and it is a thing you have to develop and train the mind against. Gambling is all about the mindset and one's emotions, because of these two things, you cannot really practice leaving gambling when you still engaging in the act of gambling. If you do so, you will hardly stop gambling. All kinds of gambling comes with their temptations of saying you should try one more time before leaving it but it is such thoughts that keeps bringing you back to the act after innocently planning to leave it. Sometimes quitting gambling requires you making some very hard decisions like changing your circle of friends and changing how you feel and think about gambling entirely.

When someone gets addicted to gambling, people always say “learn from your mistakes.” But here’s the question, does learning mean you should completely stop gambling, or is stopping not really the best way to deal with it? Because for some, quitting helps them move on and control themselves. But for others, they say they’ve “learned” yet still continue to play, just more carefully or with limits.

So what do you think? Is stopping the real sign that you’ve learned, or can you still gamble and say you’ve learned from your mistakes?

I can't forget how one of the guys suggested that any gambler put a real dollar bill or national currency on their monitor, so they could always remember that the casino was playing for real money and not just numbers on a screen. Therefore, we shouldn't devalue money; it's the same resource we work hard for: some wake up at six in the morning and ride the bus in a cramped, hot environment, some play the stock market, and still others run businesses.
It's all about money, and this resource is important, no matter how casinos and bookmakers erase our understanding of it.

Do what works for you not what someone else tells you worked for them, people have different ways of handling addiction some stop it and some reduce it, other even find an alternative to their addiction to help them cope,

This is the best thing to do. It's best for each person to do what suits them and their circumstances. The same choices can't apply to everyone; each person has a different situation.

Some can never stop, some need time, and others may find a suitable strategy to get out of it on their own. Therefore, it's best for each person to act according to their preferred choices.

Stopping itself is not the best way to learn from gambling addiction. That is only a pause. A person can be addicted, stop and return the same addicted person. Gambler who was addicted and took a pause from gambling must make conclusions from the situation he is in. A person must first understand why he is making a pause, not just make a pause to keep time without gambling. In some scenarios, a person must not even make a pause or stop gambling to understand he was to much addicted to gambling and reconsider his attitude to gambling.

So what do you think? Is stopping the real sign that you’ve learned, or can you still gamble and say you’ve learned from your mistakes?
Technically when we talk about the impact of gambling (when you are addicted) then quitting maybe this can be a learning by getting out of what makes you make mistakes but on the one hand actually for me personally who until now it is difficult to get out of gambling then maybe the learning that I get from what I do is that I am more able to minimize the losses from gambling and I am more able to manage the finances that I have that I spend on gambling at this time.

Indeed, maybe for some people it looks less but for myself it is very enough because after all, even though I know gambling is currently considered something that has a negative connotation for some people and can plunge someone into complicated conditions but as long as I am able to control myself by learning from past mistakes when gambling it is very enough for me.

It all comes down to each individual, each of us inevitably has a different perspective. For me, who is still actively gambling to this day, the phrase “learn from your mistakes” refers to the greed that is often experienced when you are in a position to make a profit, so that you can be more careful and grateful for whatever profits you have made, eliminate greed within yourself and the mindset that luck will always be on your side. I think occasionally we should also walk away with accumulated profits at the end of the game, because losses are a common occurrence.

A person must first understand why he is making a pause, not just make a pause to keep time without gambling. In some scenarios, a person must not even make a pause or stop gambling to understand he was to much addicted to gambling and reconsider his attitude to gambling.
Not all addicted gamblers can actually stop. So, if a gambler who says he is an addict could actually stop, then it means he still has some control over himself (not full control). With that and proper guidance, he can convert that small control he has left into discipline.

Stopping to me is the best way to know that recovering is taking place. A gambler should stop until he is able to figure out what triggers him and how to avoid those triggers. Until he is able to put those triggers under control, then he doesn't have any business gambling further to prevent more damage.

Stop, quit, and pause all are different terms that may have similar meanings in general. If you want to stop gambling means you are struggling the loss so you may want to stop it for a while, quit is different which is more associated with addiction and pause means taking a small break in the middle of the session like you are playing slots and you are on losing streak so you just pause/break and hoping the luck turns on now.

You're actually saying same thing either you stop it gradually or you stop at once it's all the same thing, but I just think the best was to be free is to stop it because it's never advisable to gamble at first despite the fact that I'm into it, it's only I that know the kind of pressure I'm into, so I can never advice anybody to go into it, because when one is rooted in it then that person is as good as not being able to do anything good for himself mostly those that are not financially stable and also high stakers, like gambling is one of the things that brings man down quicker than they think, so I'm really certain that stoping it is the safest way.

In some scenarios, a person must not even make a pause or stop gambling to understand he was to much addicted to gambling and reconsider his attitude to gambling.
You are correct. Just stopping is not only the solution to gambling addiction, if you dont understand the problem you are facing and the reason why you want to put to a stop in gambling you will end up going back to gambling again. The first way to solve problems like this is to acknowledge the stress and the challenge you are going through. Understanding the challenge is very important,  so quiting is not just the only solution when it comes to gambling.

So what do you think? Is stopping the real sign that you’ve learned, or can you still gamble and say you’ve learned from your mistakes?

I think that stopping is not the real sign that one have learned from gambling addiction.  Stopping is a sign that a person wanted to regain control over of his brain and avoid gambling to fix his gambling addiction.  It is not a learn from mistake thing but a treatment to an emerging gambling addiction.  Once his gambling addiction is fixed, that is where learning from experience comes in.

To me stopping gambling is the way to learn from gambling addiction, most persons are able to take a break and then control their gambling habit with caution.Whatever the case may be always put to test the best approach that would work out for you if you're an addict.I have a friend who's struggling with gambling addiction. He once approached me, determined to quit, but found himself relapsing. I advised him to set limits and gamble responsibly, rather than quitting cold turkey. This approach seems to be working for him now.All I'm trying to say in essence is that we can learn to control our emotions as gamblers.

...

So what do you think? Is stopping the real sign that you’ve learned, or can you still gamble and say you’ve learned from your mistakes?

People can still gamble after learning from all their mistakes, that is normal the important thing is adjusting one's gambling choices to whatever happened to us during our previous sessions.

Quitting for a while is also valid if one has had a negative experience on casinos and needs to think and process whatever happened in previous sessions, whether they decide to adjust and come back to gambling is a personal choice. Though, in my opinion, it would take something really traumatic for someone to quit gambling forever  instead of taking a rest.

I have personally made mistakes during my gambling sessions and have decided to adjust what I do, instead of completely quitting.

It is easier said than done because it can not be easy to stop gambling when you have become addicted to it. You can think of to stop gamble but without making up your mind it will be very difficult for you to stop gambling. Moreover to stop gamble can not really help you in terms of addiction. You can stop right now but in the future when you resume back to gamble you will become worse because it's been a long time you gamble. Just a gambler with a made-up mindset can really minimize the way he gamble if he is working to gamble safe.

Taking break from gambling can make you to rethink on how you participate in gambling, and that may give you an insight to create another gambling strategies, but stopping gambling means that you're not going to participate in gambling why Taking a break" means that you will resume gambling but you're taking correction on your previous lapses you may have caused to yourself why participating in gambling with curiosity...So if we take a break it will make us to draw a line on how we can partake on gambling.

It all on what you want and how you see it. Some gamblers would stop gambling because they don't want to get addiction. Some will have to reduce the frequency of their bets so they don't finally get more addiction. If you think stopping will be of help to your addiction assuming you have one, that will be a good decision but if you think being disciplined and reducing how often you gamble will make you get less attached to betting, it's still your obligation to make decisions that will not hurt your existence as a gambler looking for how to get profitable from gambling.

Quitting gambling isn't primarily about learning, but rather about one reason or another. They may stop because they fear total bankruptcy, legal problems, social problems, or mental health issues. You might ask about some of the variables above when you want to analyze the data, I think some people will answer honestly why they chose to stop.

I believe that when a gambler understands how gambling works, they will gamble better. Self-control, money management and other aspects will improve, making the effects of their addiction less pronounced. I didn't summarize them all here, but some of the variables I mentioned above are really useful when you want to analyze.

Because for some, quitting helps them move on and control themselves. But for others, they say they’ve “learned” yet still continue to play, just more carefully or with limits.

So what do you think? Is stopping the real sign that you’ve learned, or can you still gamble and say you’ve learned from your mistakes?

There are some casino that has an option to deactivate your account for some period of time, this ranges from weeks to months and the highest I have seen is 6 months. I think going for break for 6 months for an addicted gambler can help them out of the situation, it's not every situation you plan to manage, it can get your into more trouble if you decide to stay, most importantly if you are the type of person that doesn't understand how to manage money.

However, I want to set something clear about this gambling addiction thing, been addicted to gambling is difficult different from a person that loses game and lose money all the time. There are some gamblers that are addicted to gambling and all they do is make money and money but they just can't do a day without gambling or during the weekends they are always there to spend all their time with gambling. It becomws a problem when you can't do without it and you don't make any money from it.

Quitting gambling all at once won't solve anything, I don't think, because it might work for some people, but not everyone. The right thing to do would be to understand why you're addicted and start breaking the habits that cause it. Doing so will eliminate much of the urge to gamble, because now you know what not to do to trigger it.
