Since I have known gold, I have not seen it so volatile like this. With what happened to it and bitcoin recently, their volatility is somehow similar. I think gold may not rise for now because of how it increased recently.

For the long term, I prefer investing in Bitcoin. And if history is any indication, Bitcoin will continue to outperform gold in the coming decade, as it has in the past. Although Bitcoin's price has fallen drastically and gold's price has stabilized or increased slightly, over the long term, Bitcoin has consistently outperformed gold significantly.

I couldn't find the website anymore; I would have posted it here. It shows the details in the returns of gold and bitcoin in each year. It's not difficult to see that Bitcoin has been performing better than gold for most of the time. I wonder why people keep talking down on Bitcoin, simply because Gold is going up while Bitcoin is going down.
In the short term, Bitcoin is as volatile as hell, but in the long term, it yields more returns. I will feel more relaxed if I have my long-term investment in bitcoin rather than in gold. I have almost certainty that after 4 to 5 years, Bitcoin will give at least 100% of your investment.

This drop was relatively caused by profit-taking because gold was overbought. Investors bought gold massively because of the tension between China and the US and the expectations that the Fed will cut interest rates.

This is not physical gold but "paper" gold that's causing the crashes and it's the same with bitcoin. If we based the price only on real gold being bought and sold the price would be much more stable, but people buy gold contracts instead of the real deal because they like to speculate. Bitcoin is in a similar situation where people use excess leverage and lose everything which cause a liquidation cascade like we saw last week. The real gold and real bitcoin are unaffected. I mean the gold stored in vaults, or bitcoin in your cold storage.

I feel like gold is still a good thing to buy, and so is bitcoin, regardless of the market situation.

Someone describe Gold investment to be boring in the other thread i read somewhere in the forum. Gold is old and that bitcoin is the civilized version of Gold that comes with lots of features which transform the internet with funs and simplicity, creating each user a separate freedom.
Bitcoin is flowing with the young and old while letting everyone getting involved with the least you could afford, in as much as gold is here, bitcoin will strive, the same with Gold, these are doing great in the market because of criticising from both followers.

I don't know what chart you've looked at, but i never seen gold hit almost 4900 yet. It's highest peak were at 4400 range. And it dumps to 4000 just like you've mentioned. And yes, we can consider gold is now volatile due to this drop, for the reasons, well so many factors affecting on it.

Investment wise, it's good to have gold, but for riskier ones and want to have good profit, always chose bitcoin.

Gold can be volatile at times, but it’s always bitcoin that is highly volatile compared to gold. I think Peter Schiff will be very happy with how gold is performing. It has been doing better than Bitcoin in 2025, which gives him a reason to gloat. Gold's ATH was $4,380, not $4,900, and the drop to $4,000 represents a decline of about 7%. This is considered the biggest drop in gold since 2013 and is considered a fairly large drop for a safe-haven asset like gold. But if we look at its growth this year which is more than 62% then such a drop is not surprising. Compared to bitcoin it is nothing.

Regarding gold prices, gold is known as a safe haven asset and a store of value, not a speculative asset. That is why it usually increases very little and only dribs and drabs over time because of inflation and currency devaluation. But with the growing geopolitical uncertainty, gold prices will not stop there, it will continue to rise and even doubling from current levels is entirely possible.

It is just recent condition that has made gold like this. In the past, gold has been much less volatile compared to bitcoin. The current economic condition all over the world is itself very volatile.
