If this was about fighting back against the so-called “war on crypto” Trump could have pardoned the Tornado Cash and Samourai Wallet developers. That would've gotten the point across in a much stronger way. Instead he is pardoning scammers and dropping investigations into whoever he can benefit financially from.
CZ already served his sentence and was released. A pardon wasn’t necessary unless Binance, along with CZ, plan to return to the US, where they will continue with their market manipulation and shady listing practices.
It might seem like a good thing that the US government is no longer persecuting businesses and people involved in cryptocurrency, but Trump won’t stay in office forever. When he’s gone, there is going to be a demand for greater accountability and tighter restrictions. Rather than setting up strong protections for crypto from future attacks, Trump is more focused on how much value he can extract during his presidency.
