The bitcoin that is not real, did you mean the testnet? You can use Electrum or Sparrow wallet for it. Both their testnet wallet is not available on mobile devices. Although, you can use Electrum with real bitcoin on Android.

There are main net and test net so if it is not on main net, it is on testnet. Bitcoin has different test nets, four testnet generation so far and depends on your need, you can use different test nets. To use them, you must mine bitcoin testnet hy yourself ot claim it from Bitcoin test net faucets.

Electrum does it under a quick simple step.

Have your Electrum wallet installed. (Windows)

1. Go to Electrum, Right Click - Properties, go to Target where you have something like this

2.  Open command prompt - Windows R, cmd then click enter.

3. Since you want to run on Testnet, your command should be

4. Automatically your Electrum Wallet will open, name it as Testnet then follow all registration process.

5. Successfully created a Testnet wallet, for deposit use.

You don't have to go to properties and edit the target if you are on windows and have electrum installed on your device.
Once you install electrum, electrum testnet file is also generated.

On windows, you need to edit the target only if you want to run electrum testnet and you are using the portable or standalone version of electrum.

I don't know much about wallets but I think there is something called Devnet and testnet, all these can either be used by the developer to test their wallet procession. I could be wrong or right but anyone can correct me.
However, as the above poster has said for real bitcoin you can Electrum desktop wallet that is what I am using currently and I haven't experienced anything wrong. Note that this guaranteed was a results of keep my seed phrase secured and safer, if misplaced yours the said wallet could be vulnerable hackers.

Another possibility would be to test the mainnet directly, if you think that using the testnet is difficult for you. If you want to test it to simply learn how to make transactions, search them in the explorer etc. you can take advantage of the very low fees right now and make a few transactions for just some spare cents/sats. Or even use Lightning Network if what you want to send small change to your friends.

I'm using the installed version not portable version.

I meant adding --testnet at the end of "target" field under "shortcut" tab of properties.

You can do this to run electrum testnet, but as I said, you don't have to, if you have electrum installed on windows. Just run electrum testnet file.

I'm surprised OP asks this question. Looking at his post history, he's quite familiar with Trezor, Electrum, Bluewallet, and so on. I'd expect he heard a thing or two about testnet. Then again, unless that's not what he's asking for, I don't know if you can find a demo or something similar on the internet.

Why not Bitcoin Core which comes with Testnet, Testnet4 and Signet executables pre-built by default?

(They're just bitcoind with an extra parameter, like -testnet or -signet)

You'll download the full testnet blockchain this way.

Of course you can also run bitcoin core on -regtest, which is superb for testing the app, but not for testing the network.

I’m Im sure OP must have  known/heard what testnet is all about (atleast only tesnet, judging from his posts history)

Yeah searching the “Electrum Testnet” keyword is the fastest way..
Alternatively,checking the Start Menu Programs  should also have it in the Electrum folder, still same path anyways.

There are many wallets that support the testnet network. Electrum, suggested by the members above, is probably your best choice as it’s a reliable and easy to use wallet.
After installing the wallet, you willl need some testnet coins tBTC to make your tests. You can get some for free from testnet faucets. You won’t receive much from those faucets (although they don’t have any real value, mining them still require computing power = money) but what you will get should be more than enough to perform your tests.
As a good practice, you should send the remaining testnet coins back to the faucets you got them from.

To familiarize yourself with hardware wallets, you can try Speculos. It runs firmware related to Ledger's iconic products, such as Ledger Nano S+, Nano X, Flex, etc., on desktops (or laptops). Speculos emulates the behavior of Ledger's HWs (now officially referred to as "signers"). While it cannot process transactions (even test coins), it functions as demo by simulating user interactions, such as button presses, transaction reviews, verification, etc.

Sure there are, it only depends if you want to use mobile or desktop wallets for that.
I know Electrum and Sparrow wallet supports it on desktop, and Blockstream app should support on both desktop and mobile app.
Even hardware wallets like Trezor support Bitcoin tesnet4 with their Trezor Suite app.

I have opened it and it is perfectly fine, maybe it’s because you are using sensitive security protection on your device so it appears like that. It is only a site where you can get BTC Testnet. I often use it whenever I need BTC testnet, if you don’t need it I think you don’t need to open it.
