OLD ANTMINER S3

I have 4 old Antminer S3's.  They will not connect to the network.  All of them have been reset but  they do not connect.  green light is on but the red light is on steady as well.  i have network activity so that side seems fine. 

when i check for the IP address on the net...nothin no matter what i do.  These were working a couple years ago.  they were taken down and shelved. soo i know the "worked."

My thoughts are that they need a firmware upgrade. But how do i do a firm ware upgrade if I cant get to the network?  I know these are old...but they are all i got.

Why do you still want to run this unit? It's no longer profitable; even if you have a $0.03 power cost, you'll earn negative $8 based on the mining calculator.

Do you have a free power source? If yes, then I think you want this to run for the lottery.
If that's the reason, try to use the Bitmain tool if it can detect it via that tool.

Choose others and the Antminer toolkit, and then download the Bitmain miner tool.
Let's hope it can detect and then flash the unit through that tool.

If it still can't detect it, then you'll need to flash the controller via RX and TX. We have an old guide here, but the problem is the image no longer exists.

probably for heat in the winter I have an s1 running at 400MHz puts out some good heat plus a long shot at a solo block

If that's the reason, then that's good, but it's still not a wise decision because that unit consumes 360 watts, and if you only have one unit, it wouldn't be enough to warm a house because the heat produced from this unit is inefficient. Having multiple of these may be enough, but the problem is they're too noisy, and power consumption is too costly.
Not worth having this to run during winter. I might buy more cost-effective heaters than having an S1 and then buy a USBminer Compac F for solo mining.
