Hey everyone, I’m still pretty new to Bitcoin and the crypto world in general. I’ve been reading and learning as much as I can, and I wanted to share a few things that stood out to me so far:

So for those who’ve been in the game longer — what’s one thing you wish you knew when you first started with Bitcoin, what are the little-big advises you have for us to help us the newbies grow fast in this crypto world and not fall for any form of scam or problem at all?

Well that's good to know i will suggest you continue to learn and given a few period of time you wouldn't even remember you that you where once a newbie in the bitcoin/ crypto world.
Moreover my advise is simple be Careful with social media influencers and their fake news because in this our crypto space they are good at manipulating price movements  . I will suggest you stick with the forum learn as much as Possible and stay consistent hopefully you will find every knowledge you are looking for in here including updates on latest scams that's all ....

Welcome to di forum, from my own experience so far since wen I enter into Bitcoin matter be say many people wey no know how far de get one perticular misconception about am. Dat misconception be say dem think say na get rich quick scheme where dem go put dem money and on a very short time dem go begin to de get plenty ROI (returns on investment). Basically Bitcoin na decentralized digital currency wey get limited supply and over di years e come gain reputation as a store of value, wetin de drive im adoption be say if you hodl am on a long term e go de give you profit. Bitcoin de give privacy and freedom to it's holders if you keep your coins inside none custodial wallet, di implication be say na you hold di total custody of your coins. In my opinion, the two points you make are absolutely fundamental. Bitcoin's initial purpose was to reduce reliance on intermediaries and later it emerged as an investment and store of value. Both of these aspects are true and if understood at the same time a new or experienced user can avoid many mistakes and risks. In practice those who have been successful usually practice these few principles patience and understanding cycles. I think I agree with what you said, the more you learn the more you understand, the forum is not a place where you should rush yourself, read and learn carefully and understand how bitcoin works so that you can have a good understanding and have a good confidence when you are investing in bitcoin, there are a lot of people who don’t understand bitcoin very and started investing in it and after they invest they will start doubting themselves and the process when they see the price is dropping down.

There are a lot of things that someone should learn but no one can learn finish before starting investing in bitcoin but at least we should know much that we can have confidence in what we are doing, one of the best things someone should know before investing is how to protect your investment, we should know how to secure our wallet because it is very important everybody, if you can not secure your wallet, that means you can not buy bitcoin and thinking of hold for a long term because you will get scammed.

What I wished I knew when I started Bitcoin would have been to accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible when I had the greatest opportunity, because I could remember seeing Bitcoin at $15,000 per BTC, and now it is worth over $105,000 and more, which is worth over 800% increase in price value. But however, it is the best now, and I'm already accumulating the one I could for the possible future. Because it's actually not good to always keep procrastinating.

Not your keys, not your coins and when it sounds too good to be true, then it’s posing a significant threat and a red flag for that matter. Bitcoin has come has a revolutionary concept that when looked into closely, the advantages overwhelms the disadvantages. There is nothing like getting rich quick, you just have to follow the due process and make the best out of every situation you find yourself in your journey in the crypto world.

Ask questions often when you’re lost and never think you know all or wiser than all. Scams are prevailing everyday, so you have to get yourself acquainted to the latest trend in scam in order to not fall victim of any of them. Scams are very common way fraudsters gets to lure newbies and they make it look very true, so when you see something new and unusual always ask before taking any actions on it. No one can teach you all, you just have to keep learning and seek for more knowledge and advises in the crypto world.

Well the crypto world is a big place where you get the good bad and the ugly, to be on a safer side you need to be careful, the mistake I have made some time ago was investing on shitcoins in hope to make something out of it instead of Bitcoin. Don't be deceived by social media influencers that promote Alt/shitcoins because their words are sweeter than honey and can mislead you to making wrong investment choices.

Do not for any reason import your seed on an online hot wallet, because it's a phishing site that stores your secret information and will be used against you to steal your coins.

Do not store your seed on your phone or do not take a photo of your seed and save in your phone because a random person can come across that photo and use it to steal your coins since the seed can be imported in any non custodial wallet.

Do not leave your coin on exchange rather buy them from exchange and send to a non custodial wallet if possible cold wallet for your personal safety because if exchange is hacked you have no one to hold responsible as you are responsible for any loss that occurs. You are the best safety of your asset. It is believed according to the slogan that " not your key not your coin" this means that non custodial wallet is the key to your personal safety but having your coin stored on exchange is a risk that you can't hold anybody responsible when the problem comes. There are many but few to mention, let me end by this little advice, A word is enough for the Wise.

True as a new comer to the Bitcoin community you can't replace the need of learning with any other thing. Newbies should continue to learn and ask questions in areas were they are not too aware of this will help them to understand and appreciate Bitcoin investment better. Creating out time to read and study about Bitcoin on and off the forum is key and will be valuable to newbies because everyone started as a newbie on this forum.
