Where you expecting the government to applaud those gambling with government aids, instead of investing into what is meaningful. It will too harsh taken away the government aid so quickly without warning, perhaps they can be more strict and monitor them before cutting them off entirely if they continue.

Who cares about what the government is trying to do is right or wrong? I dont, in case you do. My focus here is why they are exerting so much care and pressure over gambling when they cause of the poverty is not being resolved. Or do you think gambling is the casue of poverty in the country? Looking at the case, it seems that this happened in Indonesia because for now the government in Indonesia is doing this or there may be governments in other countries doing the same thing.

Some of my neighbors and even my relatives who used to get social assistance from the government are now completely deprived of it because there is a part of their family members who do gambling and it is still one family card with the recipient of the assistance.
This does seem to backfire but it is understandable why the government does this because maybe they don't want to make the misuse of the money given to gamble or it could also be a deterrent effect that they do for those who gamble because in Indonesia itself gambling is still an illegal thing.

And how are these people solving their poverty crisis? By gambling away any financial assistance they're receiving? Someone else who's in dire need could use these funds, instead, a gambler is using them to fund their addiction. Do you think that's fair for the others? It's actually a fair option to stop assistance to such people. I understand that they're addicted and poor and they're looking for a way out, but this isn't the way. Ultimately, the assistance money also isn't going into good use, it's been blown away when it should be used for necessities.

The government should assess the true reasons behind poverty, but it can't be solved with a blink of an eye. If we're in such a situation, we ourselves need to get our shit together as well, not always expect someone else to do it.

My country does not have any form of social assistance for out of job and under-privileged people, let alone to start talking of who is deserving of the privilege or not..

But to contribute to the discussion, i can not tell what will happen if recipient of the social assistant gamble on a crypto casino, a friend of mine who lives in the UK and from UK once told me that one can't use such money for anything else aside feeding and to pay some minor bills..

To gamble on e crypto casino with such funds, one would have to first convert the fund to crypto right? How will they go about converting the funds to crypto is for example, the banks monitors everything the fund is spent on? (as I was told the bank does by the friend I initially talked about)

Our country doesn't have that recipient cash assistance,but I don't think we are in same country, because in my country they haven't made such declaration towards gambling, gambling has helped the poor in many situations as you said it will only affect the poor,does it means that the rich doesn't play bet,many people will be affected too,did you know that many people who are rich today depend on gambling when they are being paid they use lesser percentage on bet ,to boost their money, because economics said that human are insatiable mean that human being are not always satisfied with their wants ,their want are unlimited,so they will still get involved in to gambling to get more money,don't think if at all the policy will start it will definitely affect both the poor and the rich.

If we had responsible officials running the department that handles that, the rules would actually be implemented. But in countries like ours where corruption is common, it’s a different story. We have this “Pantawid Pamilya” program meant to help poor families, they’re supposed to get regular aid, but some people suddenly stop receiving it.

Then during an audit, it turns out their names were never removed, and the officials were just forging their signatures to claim the money themselves.
They’re the ones enjoying the allowance that’s supposed to go to the poor.

Yep, there are a lot on the list who receive cash assistance but use it for gambling or buy alcohol or other unnecessary things like hair rebonding instead of food. The thing is, no one takes pictures of them. Their community doesn’t bother, and neither do the local government workers. But if someone took a photo and submitted it to the Municipality or City Office, for sure they’d take action. Most of those on the cash assistance list don’t use the money properly.

This is true. The cash assistance recipients never understand the purpose for which the support is being provided by the government. They just use it on unwanted needs. In my state cash assistance is provided for the women to make themselves better in the society, and to improve the education among the girls in the rural area, special policies were made. Through this, girl students who continue university after schooling will get cash assistance with which they can continue their education as well as reach greater heights of life through the education they've got.

Governments make deep analyses before making a policy, but the mistakes done by the few at times make people who use the cash assistance for the right thing get affected. Once again they go behind the government officials and arrange for the cash assistance.

If we’re looking for who’s most responsible to blame, it’s the government. If they allow gambling to operate and it ends up ruining people’s lives, then they’re basically profiting from people’s failures. And in the end, it still backfires on them because gambling addiction can lead to crime and social problems. So ultimately, the government should be blamed for not properly regulating the gambling industry and for letting things reach that point.

Everything has a meaning related to cause & effect. People will not be able to gamble freely if the government does not create concrete & firm policies against gambling. It all starts with government movements & decisions that regulate policies on how gambling can be legalized in a country. However, if the government only allows it without providing definite limits or conditions & without strict sanctions for actions that exceed these limits or conditions, people will certainly be able to gamble freely anywhere, anytime, in any form & without age restrictions. The government must be able to be a benchmark in managing gambling so that people do not gamble at will & do not experience increasing poverty due to existing gambling.
