It seems that there are many scam sites focused on "helping" users to fix issues with their crypto.

This is another site that is swarming with red flags:

This site has too many resemblances to other scam websites I encountered, apparently providing ambiguous services starting with "wallet recovery" trough their support, who would probably be more than happy to empty unsuspecting newbies wallet.

With almost any click on any button the webpage will try to connect to your wallet, which I strongly advise not to connect as it could potentially drain your funds.

The registrar is cosmotown.com and hosting is asurahosting.com for ones wishing to report the site.

Those who do not have Metamask (but have other wallet extensions) can still access the website. I am a bit disappointed that Firefox has no warning yet, including Google Chrome.

I'm glad that Metamask tagged this site as suspicious as it is almost certain that this website's owners have ill intent. I also hope that other web wallets follow their lead and have this website tagged too.

As I don't use web wallet on this device unfortunately I'm unable to tag them myself.

To be realistic anyone who thinks that whenever they missed placed their seedphrase or private that a site could help them restore their keys as like someone who is not educated enough.. At first you I knows that it could be very hard to recover a wallet that have misplaced their key or seedphrase so why on earth would someone think that a site could render such a service to them?

They target beginners. When someone has been scammed and sees a chance to recover their money, they become less cautious, making them more susceptible to being scammed again. we shouldn't trust any unknown service, let alone one that claims to help you "recover your money."

Legitimate recovery services exist, and in some cases they can help with recovering cryptocurrencies. If you lost a couple of words from your seed or you don't know the order of some of your words. That information can be brute forced by someone else or by yourself using the correct tools. However, the technology to recover all 12/24 words of a recovery phrase or the full private key doesn't exist (yet). Those who have suffered such losses are grasping at straws. They let their guards down and don't think before they act, hoping that someone can help. Unfortunately, they can end up getting scammed even more in the process.

You are right. I have seen in this section previously how a user got scammed multiple times. When someone is being scammed or hacked, then his brain doesn't work properly, and the scammer takes advantage of this. Victims easily trust scammers and send them funds or wallet credentials, so scammers easily drain wallets or get the funds.

Most of the account recovery services are scams, and all of the fund recovery services from a scam website or from a scammer are totally scams. We just need to not trust scammers or account recovery services. However, it seems that those apps or websites don't have any thread on the forum, and we can't take any action, either tag or raise flags. But thanks for sharing with us. Hope this thread will pop up during a Google search if someone searches for it.

They encounter many people who contact them offering to help them recover their lost assets or restore the wallet, but only after the victim pays an upfront fee for “starting the process.” Once they receive the payment, they disappear with the victim’s money without helping at all.

I have encountered many similar cases throughout my time in this field. Therefore, I agree that any beginner should not trust any stranger who offers help, should not use these so-called “recovery services”, most of which are outright scams, and should not blindly trust search results, as search engines host many fraudulent websites, and I think that OP found this scam website through such a search result. Even if this website is taken down or flagged by MetaMask, the scammers will certainly return with new domains.

Good that you pointed that out, luckily I have never been scammed that way as I exercise caution whenever I'm dealing with crypto, so I didn't know that these "secondary scams" exist. It will be good warning for anyone who got scammed in the first place.
