What a way to make $3,000 off a machine that could easily be got for less than $1,800 assuming all the 30 people participate and pay up
1. What happens if just 10 people participate? Do you still go ahead with the raffle Or wait until all the 30 spots are filled up?
2. How long will the wait be? End of this year, Mid-way next year?

I rather not spark a debate since I can see this going there. It's a raffle, like all raffles every ticket gives the purchaser a chance of winning an item costing more than the ticket.

Okay, but who will be the escrow? This should be the first thing you should have cleared up before anything else, especially taking into account the very low rank and activity of your account. Nobody will trust in a brand new member here for a raffle like this, and I think that you'd even have a hard time finding a reputed escrow who is willing to do business with a member with a profile like yours.

Most users who need a computer need a computer, not a lottery ticket for a computer.

Even with escrow, anyone taking this deal is accepting a fair amount of risk.
All this for a computer that is not worth the total value of the raffle tickets you're selling.

Trust is hard to earn on an anonymous website.

OP, do you have the sealed pack machine right now (already bought) or you are waiting for all the spots to be filled and after that you will buy the machine? I am actually looking for a laptop but IMO Macbook m1 offers a much more value for money and still more than enough for my tasks.
It is a creative idea, I must say but 85$ lottery ticket is way too much. Best of luck for this though. If you can somehow make it more lucrative, maybe you will have better chance.

I already have them. I've set up the raffle elsewhere where I've received a bit more positivity towards it. I'm answering to understand the thought process here. The computer is $2177 including tax + shipping + insurance and escrow fees is approximately $2500. At $100 per ticket I would net $500, at $85 I would net $50. At $85 I would simply do the raffle to receive trust. Now the same computer can be exported to many other countries, simply our neighbors down south are used to paying $2777 at apple for it. I sensed that some perceived this as a quick money grab which wasn't the intention. It's pretty common for raffles to happen during the holidays, risking $100/$85 for a $2000+ item is  decent bet in my opinion
