what I know is that emotion is the focal point of gambling, it is the reason why we win and lose, what your emotion tells you to do determines the results you get. If your emotion tells you to gamble big and you win, then it's your luck. And likewise Iif your emotion direct you to gamble big and you lose, it is also your luck. There will always be that instinct that tells you to increase or decrease your staking power. The severe losses in gambling can be caused by emotion and greedy. If can't control our emotion when we get a lose, we can end up with many losses because we are trying to recover the losses. And when we are winning, it can end up with losses as well because we are trying to win more (greedy). IMO, OP may assume greedy is also a part of the failure of controlling emotion when we are winning prizes.
