Hello everyone,

After discovering the new initiative launched by Éric Larchevêque (The Bitcoin Society), I asked myself how I could contribute— even in a small way — to help newcomers learn about Bitcoin.
Coincidentally, I had just finished creating a document for a close friend living overseas, sharing my own learning journey. I called it **“A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide”**.

Originally, it was meant to give her the essential foundations she needed to start saving in Bitcoin.
This was in early autumn 2025, and I wanted to provide her with a simple and practical guide so she could begin her own “path into Bitcoin” with confidence.

Day after day, the guide grew — more chapters, more explanations, more references…
It eventually became far too detailed to be considered “mini”. That’s why I now call it a **(Mini)-Guide**: it started small, but evolved into a much more complete resource.

I’m now making this (Mini)-Guide available to the community through a Google Drive link.
If you find it helpful, feel free to share it with friends or anyone curious about getting started with Bitcoin.

The guide is written in English, as it was originally created for my friend.
It’s based on publicly available information, but also on many sections written directly with the help of ChatGPT, which allowed me to build it quickly and efficiently.

You’ll find my email address inside the document.
If you’d like to suggest improvements, corrections or additions, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

Here is the link to version 4.0 of **“A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide”** with all the related forms (as Folder and Zip File, no Google account required):

Here the link as IPFS share of **“A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide”** as PDF:

And here the link of the full V4.0 Zip archive (with guide and forms) as IPFS share:

Thank you,

Inasmuch as we cannot do without learning everyday, then we need to keep to update for our own benefits, which is why I've seen this as an achievement from your end in contributing to the world by being informed on specific aspects of Bitcoin that they should be more informed about in your own little contribution.

Yeah, i notice my browser say the PDF have 264 pages.

The guide is written in English, as it was originally created for my friend.
It’s based on publicly available information, but also on many sections written directly with the help of ChatGPT, which allowed me to build it quickly and efficiently.

It's nice to see someone disclose that they use AI/chatbot. But after skimming the PDF, few guide use lots of UTF-8 icon/emoji which may be distracting to some people.

If you’d like to suggest improvements, corrections or additions, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

Aside from what i said above, consider grouping each mini guide into few different category on page 4-5.

Yep, and I figured out I forget some valuable information, so, I have already added in next version a section named:
'How to Deposit Fiat Money on Exchange Platforms'

Expect more pages than 264 in the future Smiley

It's nice to see someone disclose that they use AI/chatbot.

Thanks, yes, it is openness to be right with people, why take credits for something that is not from me.

Also the guide contains a lot of publicly information. So, I took care to always give the author and source in reference.

But after skimming the PDF, few guide use lots of UTF-8 icon/emoji which may be distracting to some people.

Let's see how I can adapt, the summary is anyway in full rework, see next point.

I have printed out Version 2.0 in a book, 212 pages with good paper quality and in color, and honestly,
the icon/emoji rendering very well for me.

Aside from what i said above, consider grouping each mini guide into few different category on page 4-5.

Thanks for that, yes, fully agree, I am already working on resorting sections by topics, grouping by chapter and add new titles.
It is not funny to rework all titles numbering in Libre Office Writer, but, I will Smiley

Thank for that proposal!

Thank for feedback, unfortunately I cannot post a picture here, let me share picture in good quality over a share.

The intermediate state of the document can be see over the link below, have added also some pictures from the printed book:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NJhb50NW2xx2_VOhWqb7cV9Uby3dPUsZ?usp=drive_link

To mention, printed on paper, it looks much better, but it is build up to be used in both ways, paper and digital form.
And with all links inside, using the PDF is necessary as well.

Once V4 completed, I could try to remove all icons everywhere, this will certainly give another look. I can try later Wink
Or just stay with some (or any idea if I can remove them automatically from the summary table? does a kind of function exists in LibreOffice?)

Thank a lot for help,

I can see how much time you spent on research and gathering all the informations. You did well but since you are directing the articles to your friend who wants to learn about Bitcoin, why don't you simple and guide her bit by bits?

Moreover to be professional in Bitcoin, it is not something one can learn at a time but on gradual process as you keep involving into Bitcoin from the basic of creating your Wallet, securing your private keys and understanding the risks and concepts of investing in Bitcoin.

Maybe you can just guide her sequentially so that it does not become so complex as a beginner.

Oh, this is a very good question, in fact, helping her, learning her, was a logistics challenge. She is living on the other side of the world.
We have different time zones (+8h), and our agendas are different. But no worries, we had guidance sessions for learning.

And it was exactly during one of these sessions, we figure out that having a small resume of the important items will be helpful for her.
So, I said, let me collect few information and put them in a document. That was also why it was named on the beginning mini-guide without the ().

A document with few pages was created with the basics to start. Mission accomplished Smiley

But then, why not give to anyone this documentation, so, more was collected from my own learning path, use ChatGPT to complete quickly and in a good English,
all the topics that I took as important. It was not really anymore for my friend, but for the community.

My wish was at that moment to give to the Bitcoin community a document that anyone can use to start savings with BTC. Gathering all important things to learn in one document.

And so the 'A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide' was borne.

Hope this explain more Smiley

Thank for feedback, unfortunately I cannot post a picture here, let me share picture in good quality over a share.
You can post pictures in [img]...[/img] tags, but they won't be embedded into your posts, only shown as links, as long as your account is of rank "Newbie". And if a higher ranked user quotes your [img]...[/img] images, they will be shown as embedded pictures. So, frankly there's no excuse to not use [img]...[/img] already.

Upload your pictures to https://talkimg.com which is a dedicated image file hosting service for Bitcointalk. You will get there ready-to-copy/paste [img]...[/img] tags of your image uploads.

At least your Google Drive links don't require to be logged in at Google, which would be a privacy nightmare. But I don't like it, because I don't know what happens if someone who is already logged in with his Google account accesses your links. Would they dox themselves to you, meaning would you be able to see which other Google user accessed your Google Drive links?

Edit:
While I don't like your Google links, I appreciate your effort and presented document to the extend that it's worth for me to merit it.
I don't like the abundance of icons, too, but that's my personal taste. Looks to me like some AI bot gone totally nuts.

Thank a lot for your feedback,

I will check the embedded pictures for the posts, thank to make me aware with talkimg.

For google drive, i have not seen any section in my google portal showing me who acceded to the files, but maybe I just do not know if that function exists.
If any good alternative free of charge exists, I can of course migrate to something more sure in regards to privacy. Just let me know please.

For the icons, yep ChatGPT put a lot, and as I mentioned, once printed on paper, it is not so bad Smiley

What do you think, should I provide 2 files (one with icons, another one without)?
This would be work for me, but why not. Or is it just in the Summary that is not what you like?

Have searched about another alternative for storage place, and figure out IPFS. Please try following link:
https://ipfs.io/ipfs/bafybeifcm72bfps3hdt5rur43moirbats6b4przqm4nxfl3srnle2beymy

I guess it is more respecting privacy. Let me know any concern.

Thank,

I have created a Draft Version 4.0 without the Title icons.

It looks like that ! Do you prefer that approach ?
The Summary does not show icons anymore, except 2 I wanted to keep Smiley

Now, one thing that borrow me is how ChatGPT write titles with the capital letters.
For a French guy like me, this is unusual, but I do not really know if this is common in other countries.

If not, I will review all these capital letters in titles as well.

Please let me know what is best readable for you!

How about you pay attention to not violate forum rule #32 unnecessarily? See here for Unofficial list of (official) asktom.cf rules, guidelines, FAQ. Basically it says, consecutive posts are not allowed and bumping isn't allowed if less than 24h have passed, rule for bumps is another one). It's not the first time you ignore rule #32, IIRC.

If the last post is yours, you can simply edit it and add what you want to amend. No need to artificially inflate your post count.

Looks much cleaner for me. I don't like the visual clutter caused by the many different icons.

How much is written by ChatGPT and how much are your own words (an approximate percentage ratio, maybe)?

Hi, sorry, was not really aware about the rules, my mistakes have not read or understand, I will take care.

For your question, the ratio is estimated, but let say:

- Crypto Community Authors 20%
- ChatGPT 78%
- Me, maybe 1% to 2%

But, the biggest work was not to write the articles, but to know what question to ask to ChatGPT and interact with its answers.
I would not have been able to get these results if I had not learn from the Bitcoin Community.

I spend a lot of time to learn from YouTube videos and from books. All the references are inside the Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide.
Also here my big thanks to the respective authors and creators.

About the question for the sharing place, would at be ok that beside the link to google drive in the (mini)-guide, I mention this Bitcoin Forum Post?
So, I could edit first post and always place the right IPFS link, as far I cannot place the updated IPFS link inside the document itself.

The (Mini)-Guide will then show both links, folder from google drive with the guide and the forms, and the link to this Forum for the guide alone.

Something like that:

...
I haven't asked for scientifically correct error bars...  Smiley  rough estimates are fine.

But seeing your percentages, I hope you state your sources clearly, otherwise it could quickly be considered plagiarism and this is not well tolerated on this forum. Not clearly declared AI contend also doesn't have a good reputation and perception by many here.

I didn't much had an opinion on ipfs.io to be frank, but a brief look at it and ipfs.tech sounds quite OK to me. Fine for me. I can deal with Google links and as long as I don't have to be logged in with a Google account to access content, they're OKish for me, just not common in this forum due to privacy reasons.

Yes, you have right, i took really care to name any authors, creators and original source from the internet. I have learned Bitcoin by listening and reading them.
It is absolutely not my intention to take credit in the name of them. It is the complete opposite.

On the beginning with the first pages of the guide, one of the idea was to have a document for my friend, where she can easily follow a learning curve.
The guide as to be a kind of 'hub' where she can find the correct and appropriate information (and also checked and valid information).

The new (Mini)-Guide reader will see on many pages the name of the creator and link to his content. Just click on the links.

Something less visible, later by adding more content, was also the added 'hidden gems'. Here the idea is like a game,
allowing the reader to be surprised by good additional content, mostly YouTube videos explaining and given more content about the section where placed.

For the usage of AI, reputation and perception may be understandable, but also here, it is mentioned in the guide that a lot of the content was created
by using ChatGPT. The reason is mainly that the content is created quickly, also in a very good English language, I am French, the English language is
not native for me, and also, I have not all vocabulary. So, it was a real game changer for me to have quickly a full document available.
I assume the people using the guide will be ok with that.

I hope this give more background why the (Mini)-Guide is like it is. With my 60 years old, my only wishes is to contribute to the Bitcoin Community.

Added now a ChatGPT Foreword explaining how the guide was build up:

Merry Christmas Bitcoin Community,

Right in time for Christmas, Version 4.0 of "A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide" is finalized and published Smiley

You can find on first post of this thread the new updated hyperlinks (as Google Drive, and IPFS links),
as PDF document and as ZIP file with all forms and authenticity checks files.

Version 4.0 is much more bigger than previous version and contains more topics related to Bitcoin.
Have a look in the changelog in first pages.

Hopefully this guide may help you in your journey to Bitcoin,

Wish you all the Best,

Fabrice

Hello Bitcoin Community,

A Bitcoin (Mini)-Guide Reader made me aware about a typo mistake in the Backup sheets.
On Sheet Share 2 of 5, one line from notes have shifted and 3 letters 'com' appeared.
I assume was a wrong manipulation from me. It is corrected now in next version.

If you want to print the forms, you can use the forms provided separately in the zip file or
on the google drive share.

But this give me also the opportunity to enhance the forms with additional field,
the wallet fingerprint, useful when you use for instance air-gapped wallet to check if
wallet seed-phrase and optional pass-phrase are correctly set.

I am attaching the screenshot of the mistake and the updated / corrected forms:

Wish you Happy New Year !
