As the title reads. I’m looking for a $5000 and will use 3 brand new, sealed computers as collateral. On the used market sold as new all 3 are worth 40% more than the loan I’m requesting. I will ask that they email sealed to preserve their resale value. I’m in Southern California in case physical delivery to a location is better, that would save shipping fees

This doesn't make any sense.  You can't ask "new" prices for previously owned computers, even if they are unused and remain sealed in their original packaging.  Electronics devalue quickly, and selling them for anything near the retail value of a new computer is highly unlikely.  A lender needs to base his loan on their resale value, not base the the retail value.

The issue with leaving them sealed is that the person accepting them would have no proof that the boxes are not filled with a brick instead of a computer.

Probably not the photos a lender might want to see, unless if you are trying to say the computers have never been unsealed/unboxed and that the lender is going to be the first person to unbox them.
Otherwise, you might want to include a sneak peek of what the devices might look like. Just trying to advise

no offense, but it sounds to me like you are trying to get rid of those laptops for some quick crypto at the expense of a lender.

a bit of unsolicited advice, if you need the money, sell them, that's your best option.
you will also get 40% more money (according to your prices), and it should not be that hard to buy the same laptops again if you have a use for them.

As zwei suggested above, your best offer is to sell the two PCs and get full amount instead of offering them as collateral for less value. And when you collect the money again (which should be the loan repayment amount in your offer) you can buy the same items without paying additional fees like the interest you will have to pay to the lender. You might want to use the "Marketplace" board here in bitcointalk, maybe you can find a buyer near to your location in Carolina.

No offense but if you really have those computers, i think you failed to sell them at a closed price to what you intend and you gave it a try to get rid of them as a collateral for a crypto loan.

To everyone that has commented and may comment on me selling the computers. I’m well aware of where and for how much I can sell them. Please, if you don’t even offer loans mind your business. I’m offering what I have as collateral for the loan I want. A lender could offer less if he chooses.

Sealed boxes have the S/N outside for a reason - it's not private information and anyone can track it.  OP can lie about where he got them, but if he posts the serial numbers we can see the exact configuration of the system and its ownership status.  

OP - post the serial numbers of the three systems you want to use as collateral, and not the ones you wish to sell.   If you want a $5K loan, the resale value of those three systems should be at least $15,000.    Or, for the same computers and depending on how many months old they are, a local pawn shop will loan you $3k - $4k.    Be careful in offering items that you want to sell as collateral - it makes you look scammy.

but i sell a ton of gear on ebay thousands of items over twenty years.

so i have an idea what the laptops go for on ebay.

and i know how to tell if they are hot 🥵.

15000 in laptops do not drop to 5000 unless they are two or more years old.

this is really fishy... WHY some one should grant such HIGH collateral? 3 times the amount of the loan???
Plus... it doesn't sound strange that these "laptops" must be kept sealed? "don't trust verify".

Are you trusting someone handling this high amount ... without checking it before? He even ready to drive for dropping laptops?
Ok I can understand people have their need but its too strange as request  (and I think there are many pawn shops or other way to get this loan.... )

You posted a request on a public forum, so that makes it everyone's business.  You're a newbie here, you don't get to come here and tell us how to behave.  Most of the responses have been kind and informative, don't act like a little bitch if they're not the responses you want.

Bitcoin isn't like paypal and this marketplace isn't like ebay.  There's no recourse for mistakes in this space.  Most of the old guard here have seen too many scam attempts to count, and your offer resembles plenty of them.  Maybe you're not a scammer, and maybe you are.  If not, read the responses you've received and if you're serious about wanting to use these computers as collateral for a loan, consider following the advice.
