What's reasons could explain this message from any bet platform?

A friend showed me this message while placing a bet some hours back and I really couldn't give a solid answer, so I am throwing it open for the house to help me out with a good answer to satisfy this question.

What could be reasons enough my dear old sportsbettors who have been in the game for long, to get a message like this that pops up while trying to place a bet on several picks. Is it that the odds he picked were too high or they were too low at that moment or it's something else?

The only reason which comes to my mind is the bookie itself assuming your friend could be trying to engage in arbitrage or some movement which is seen as against the terms of service of the bookie where he got that message.
Otherwise i could not say there is any other logical explanation, in my opinion, the bookie only cares to have a high volume on its markets, they do not care if their bettors are being reckless with their money or if they are being moderate with their bets.

Anyways, hopefully this wont be translated on your friend getting completely banned or limited on that website. Though, the fact he got this message, it means he is probably already on some black list of that website.

The most likely possibility is that the odds change especially when combining live matches and pre-matches something like this can happen because if I'm not mistaken, it's in a multi.

But we can't come to a definite conclusion here, especially with such a small piece of imagery, so it's a little difficult to be sure, although I think it's the changing odds that make the bet you want to make a little hampered because the odds you want to bet on are no longer available.

There could be lots of reasons but I'm keening on the fact that the odds had changed and you didn't enable auto place even when odds do change. Or could be contingent outcomes but some betting platform take them as different bet so likely odd changed. I agree with you you have rightly dissected to question and provided some explanation answers to why the error message could have popped up. Another question that I would like to ask the app is that, did their friend try to bet again? If yes, what was the outcome on my- did the error message pop up?

The answer is probably the bonus activated by your friend has a minimum required odds while his current pick has lower odds than the minimum as per the screenshot shown above.

He did try to bet again but this time he removed some games  after trying so hard to increase his betting amount to no avail.
He had to bet on fewer games than he hoped for and although this is my first time experience of a message like this, am sure such message could come up for any other reasons also.

I suspect your friend is experiencing a volatility issue with the odds. Perhaps the odds change so quickly that your friend failed to place his bet. The site your friend is playing on should have a setting to "accept any odds changes", and I have implemented this on one of the sites I frequently play on. You can see an example of the settings below :




By the way, I have also experienced this issue before, aftert realized it, then I adjusted the settings as I did.

I see a settings button in the image you included. Try checking it out, and setting it to accept (hopefully). Just out of curiosity, did your friend try placing a bet while a match was in progress? If so, then my suspicion is likely correct.

If he is gambling on a bonus, then he has to select more games to meet the minimum that would be accepted for the activation the bonus amount. I can see some information pertaining boosting bonus down the page, so this is a clear issue of him not meeting the criteria to activate his bonus. He should read the terms and conditions to activate the bonus to know what is required of him. I don't think this has anything to do with odds change, that error message isn't for odds change at all.

This is an an error that occurs often for live, in-play matches. You won't see it happen much with pre-match bets. My advise to your friend is to toggle the option that allows his sportsbook provider to executes his bets at current market value. This is not the best option too as it might place the bet at much lower odds than expected. That's a trade-off we have to accept for placing bets on live matches with fast, changing events.

This is most likely what could have been causing this issue. Aside from the odd changing, there has also been the possibility of one of the game selections having already started, for which the system needs to notify the bettor of it, either for it to be removed or for the current odd of the game to be accepted.

Thanks for answering. And the clarification. Like you said there could have been a thousand and one reasons why it happened. I would recommend he uses another online bookie or email the bookie about his experience. They will likely provide good explanations for why that happened.
