How is December market for y'all

As the topic says how Is December market for y'all, I have heard alot if traders tell me that it is not good to trade in December, especially the forex market, because it is not balance and you are at risk of more SL's
but I do feel that it's just a myth and it's not actually A real thing, I feel the market is the same as other month, the only difference is the holidays

So what do you guys think about it, is it actually true or it's just an assumption.

The entire world's economy is unstable at the moment. But for this December, it's been sluggish for me. Not that a lot of trades to be done and I guess that it's also the month to slow down and reflect since it's the holidays.

We can fairly say that for the past months, we don't see so much action in the market. The market remains highly volatile and if there are traders who have made money on it, they would love to admit that they also have losses along side with it.

You can go long or short in trading, there is no time that traders can not use to make money, but it is good to know that trading is risky, most traders are losing while only few tradere are making money with trading. But if you are a good trader, this December will also be good most likely if you do know how to trade but trading is very risky all the time. It is different from holding.

There is not strong thing and effects to affects the market as we know during December like this people usually close from whatever activities they have as it is festive season, lot of companies close and workers finding their ways, many small traders could definitely sells of their portion of coin and holding just to feed themselves towards the December so we could hardly see something positive in the market.
As a matter of facts, the forex market could either be worse as the crypto market doesn't corresponds with the sequence of Forex market and days of activities such as; week days, weekends sure affects how user traders do behave over the market.

It is Christmas time so now the market will be down. This is because Christmas is celebrated all over the world and everyone spends a lot of money to celebrate it, so many people sell Bitcoin. Every year the market is down during Christmas. So trading in December is more risky. I don't know much about Forex trading so I can't say anything about Forex. But it can be said that this happens every year with Crypto. But this situation will pass after Christmas. So it is better to refrain from trading during Christmas.

Markets in December got nothing new in other spaces but in crypto, bitcoin market showed some recovery and proved lots of speculators wrong with their bearish signals. I mean, stocks and gold markets are doing as per expectations whereas bitcoin market was expected to enter a confirmed bearish but it has not yet in my opinion.

Bitcoin is still trading at mid point of trend like from the current price level, it may bounce back toward a new ATH or may sink further to get us into usual bearish trend of current cycle. I as well expect bitcoin to have longer bullish trend than what it had in other four year cycle. But as of now, we did not get any confirmation for that. So, traders need to be cautious by not going for any big leverage.

Well, the market seems sideways this month; it isn't the same as last month. The only reason that I could think of why the market is currently sideways is because we are on holiday.
But still I am expecting to see a $98k or even $96k price this month before it continues to drop.
I don't have much trade recently because I noticed some manipulation or a big spike that looks like liquidity hunting.
I better go be careful on the liquidity hunt. That's why I didn't make any trades recently. If this week is still similar to last week, I might try to risk entering where others place their stop loss with 1RR to 2RR. If the price won't be able to go or fails to hit the $96k level, then expect more bleeding this week until Christmas, and it might end up the same as last month, where the price ended up bearish.

Know that when there is a general opinion on something, that is not always unfounded as there is a reason for it in most cases. Traders warning about caution while trading in December is just to warn you to be careful while trading not really not to trade at all. If you have been making trades in December and you have been making profit, do not start becoming too confident and start ignoring some warnings not meant to threaten you but warnings meant to guide you. Making a lot of trades in december is still dangerous, the market can make some unexpected turns.

I don’t expect December to be much different from other months of the year, except that it is the last month of the year and has many holidays and celebrations. This may play a negative role,as liquidity decreases and trading volumes decline, which increases price volatility.

Forex market is well regulated and so I don't expect the unusual to happen in the market or whether there is going to be unnecessary fluctuations that won't be traceable using the daily news calendar. So if you are particular about the forex market, the unusual won't happen but you can expect more slow movement during the last days of the month because of different holidays from different countries financial institutions. Basically, this time of the year always witness low volatility because of the lesser numbers of traders and businesses on the floor of trade.

The sharp sells when price was at the top really gave traders lot of profits and was a massive sells between the trading short and long term traders because the market was flashing steady green lights then. Meanwhile some short term traders had also got stuck following the sudden sharp fall too but perhaps, that doesn't mean traders aren't active and making profits at it course.
It just requires strategies of how you can mitigate with the current market being because it's a critical period for regular traders who trades day to day.
It's also quite funny how Op think there's such a holiday for traders. The market is digitalized and decentralized, so traders are always at their will to make decisions when to trade or not. The current market condition is indeed skeptical for most traders now to continue due to fear of lost or getting stuck to hold beyond their plans in the short term. That's where it becomes the risk.

I’ve found December only punishes traders who don’t adjust.

Fewer participants means moves can be slower or more random around news and holidays, but the market mechanics don’t magically change.

Same rules, just less forgiveness.

I wouldn't call it an assumption but it's an advice that rose from the experience of a trader, don't be surprised that there are also some traders that their experience will counter that of the first trader that said you should not trade on december, different traders can make profit or lose during december but it depends on the general market performance or the price moves of the pairs you are trading.

December should be treated as other months as I don’t see any significant differences from other months. If there should be any at all, it should be something that one can easily adjust and still make the best trades out of December like other months. Some forex traders do complain of some changes in the chart pattern some few months back but it was something they felt can be improved on and just a slight changes in the market movement that if you’re a trader, you can easily adjust and still be on the winning ways.

For me, I have not witnessed many December as a trader, so I’m not in the right position to be able to tell exactly how the market usually behaves at every December yearly. Holidays are here and those not also actively trading may want to force and earn from the market to spend for the holidays, meanwhile the market only rewards hard work and consistency. It may be that is what has caused a lot of losses in December that is assumed to be a month where traders take lots of losses in the market.

It's all just speculation and hype and this is what causes FOMO and FUD and make those who are ignorant fall victim to these market sentiments and the pressure of selling.
December is unlike every other month in the year and it is a time if careful and strategic planning because it would entail a lot of physical expenses for those who have families and even those who don't, would have issues in the coming year if they fail to be disciplined about their expenses this December.
It is wise to reduce trading activities for those who are not yet pro in the game and only trade when you have funds to lose or feel confident and have separated such funds from your regular expenses.

FOMO with good news and PANIC with FUD news are opposite reactions in the market but they are similarly bad for people who are participating in this market that is volatile and unpredictable.

We can see Bitcoin price history with ROIs in months of year and more particulary in December months. December this year can be very different than December months in past years.

This year December month is not too bad but if we combine 2025 December ROI with two previous months for Q4 2025, it is one of worse Q4 in Bitcoin market history.

December is the month you rest from trading. It's not a myth at all. From data, the month of december usually have lower liquidity and increased price swings.
If you trade in december, you need some kind of special treatment such as being more careful and trade lesser than usual. Therefore, I usually just skip it. Just not worth the effort.

This year December month is not too bad but if we combine 2025 December ROI with two previous months for Q4 2025, it is one of worse Q4 in Bitcoin market history.

I thought trading at this year-end would be a great month because people might have a great time doing such trading but based on the graph that you have shown, there's no clear pattern that the month of December isn't good at all in trading.

IMO, there's possibly that news and regulation announcements could be create a sudden move, so short term might have high risk than long term trading this month.
