The problem is that some people don't know how to say NO when they see excess alcohol, they'll continue drinking and drinking till they are beyond their limits. While, some people don't drink alcohol but because it's festive period, they will foolishly try it and land themselves into problems. Don't drink if you are not use to alcohol for your own safety.

We are already in the last month of the year where a lot of people believe that it's the only time that they get to do whatever they've failed to do since the beginning of the year. Though I'm not 100% confident about the 70 percent stats that you mentioned, but AFAIK, a few number of accidents that occurs in times like these are often related to those who just happen to drink excessively for certain reasons, and still decides to drive.

What's the point to all this by the way?. Drinking is not bad, though ethically, getting drunk is not smart either. But where I tend to have problems is when I see or hear people getting involved in accidents as a result of being excessively drunk. It's not worth it at all. There is more to life than getting drunk and putting your life and other people's lives at risk.

As an individual, you are free to drink which is allowed legally and you are allowed to drive too with a valid license but if you want to do both togethe,r then you are being a threat not just to yourself but to others too, so in my opinion anyone who commits that crime should be given severe punishment over the fine or tickets. You are right. Apart from drinking, this is a rush season that some people become unreasonable that they can take irrational and unbelievable actions because they want to belong to what others are doing. For drinking and drinking, that is very risky and I won't dare to enter a vehicle that I know the driver is drink. If you drink, you are likely to feel sedative at any time. I have heard of survivals stories of averted accidents that would have been fatal because of few seconds sleep on the steering. So this thread is educative not only to drivers but pedestrian who are either working along the road or crossing where there is no pedestrian bridge. It is not every driver that is careful in the steering.

Well, it's important to raise a reminder that life's celebration doesn't end at the festive period but everyday that we're alive and healthy is enough reason to celebrate. This shouldn't just be about alcohol, though it's one of the major causes of road accidents but we should also advise against people using the steering when they're not in a good frame of mind. People should also be aware that Tesla has solved full self driving.  If driving impaired is a part of your life, do society a favor and buy a Tesla with FSD.  It would greatly reduce the number of accidents around the holidays.  I know I'll never own another vehicle without it.  More than a year now and thousands of miles under my belt.  I'd have no problem trusting it to drive while I'm asleep.

Every Christmas period you see a lot of people doing all sort of things I nthe name of getting to their destination very fast some people do not consider to check the condition of their cars before leaving their houses and some make careless mistakes in the name of overtaking other vehicles it is not all about drinking, road users should learn how to be patient while driving if they can reduce the level of over speeding they drive even when accidents happen it will not be fatal.

It is very certain that accidents is common as far as transportation is concerned and which most of the accidents that happened this days could be a mistake sometimes but the most common courses of accidents in this generation is the frequent intakes of hard drugs and alcohol which they called it enjoyment, without knowing that the are actually abusing the drugs, as a commercial driver abusing those hard drugs and alcohol should not be what they should eventually engage in, at such the government needs to provide a sector that will be regulating or monitoring those drivers from engaging themselves on hard drugs and by doing that, the government will not only reduce the rate in which accident due occur but also save the society life's.
