It looks like they use Michael Saylor to attract other businesses to do the same, or maybe Saylor wants that job to accumulate more BTC since he promises to keep buying and holding.

Then the SnS reposted it and said If you work at SnS, we will pay you in Bitcoin. I didn't get if they mean they will pay Saylor only if he works for them, or did they meant that they will pay all their workers in Bitcoin. Op claim that SnS is now pays their workers in Bitcoin, but I was unable to find such announcement from them. All I see is, they quoted Michael Saylor and said they will pay him in Bitcoin if he works for SnS. I think OP considered this as an announcement and thought the SnS employees are going to get paid in Bitcoin too.

The company is on an experimental phase on whether this will beneficial for them or harmful, and for sure there are many establishments that will look at them as well. If they see this as a successful one, other companies will copy it and vice-versa.

Yes, we are stepping into an era where Bitcoin is becoming more of a currency than an asset, but we can't remove the fact that there will be more people that will look at it as an asset rather than a currency just because of the fact that it's volatile, and they can make money from it simply by holding it. I wonder though if there are many customers that prefer paying thru Bitcoin when they're buying on this store, and did that made them more profitable compared in the past. Also, will they continue doing it when we enter the bear market already and the price of Bitcoin is slowly going down.

Whatever the case is, this is a perfect step towards Bitcoin being more of a currency.

It's the best approach in business to my mind. When you are afraid to invest your money in Bitcoin but also see the potential, the best thing you can do in this case is to keep your Bitcoin income in Bitcoin, store it safely and when the time comes, either cash it out or use it for developing the business further.

I think that it's a marketing plan. By saying that you are willing to pay salary to your employees in Bitcoin, you are gaining an attention of media, forums, social networks and many crypto enthusiasts. It's a positive step but I think that if it becomes massive, there will be more regulations, which is not good.

The retweet seems more like a sarcasm but maybe they make it official. I don't know why they are getting such attention from the community at all, if I am missing something, do let me know because there are many other similar giants or not giants same thing to me doing it.

By the way who would like to pay in btc for food in these giants, I would never even if where I live there is no Steak 'n' shake haha, but even if there would be any I won't pay in btc as I don't want anyone to know I have btc except I am saying here haha.

Well I don’t know about SnS since they haven’t officially disclosed how their payroll is, not from what I know with companies that pays their workers in Bitcoin, the workers are usually not the ones who covers the transaction fees or have the fees deducted from their salaries. Usually, the companies are responsible for the fees through the use of crypto payroll processors or other systems that uses very low fees like the LN. So the workers just receive their exact salaries, except of course market volatility reduces or alters the exact amount.

Yes, that will happen one day when most of the companies in the world will accept Bitcoin as a payment method but for that they first have to consider it as a reserve to make it beneficial for everyone.

This is another applause for the growth of bitcoin, gradually it's taking over, like will all know bitcoin is gradually taking its place in the globe either legally accepted in a country or not, time will tell, just stick to your bitcoin investment holding with your accumulation strategy, bitcoin will soon dominate other currency.

From what I found on their X page, SnS started accepting bitcoin payments around May 2025. However there is no mention of paying workers in bitcoin. I think OP misunderstood their comment on Saylor’s page and thought they fastfood pays its workers bitcoins. AFAIK the handler was just being funny while trying to get engagement on X, nothing serious.

This initiative by the company is just a way to make all their workers be aware of what they are accepting (bitcoin) in their company, and they also need to receive it and be part of it, and they will also have the opportunity to go spend the same coin outside of their regular fiat. Anyways, good luck to Steak 'n' Shake. It's not been long since they started accepting the Bitcoin payment option, and now this move.

You might be a bit mistaken about that, the tweet was simply in response to Michael Saylor's statement that he "will work for Bitcoin," that SnS would pay him in Bitcoin if he worked with them. SnS itself never said that they pay their employees in Bitcoin, as all Bitcoin they receive is allocated to their SBR, as explained in the image below.



But yeah it's great to see a company that's genuinely interested in adopting Bitcoin not just as payment, but also as their strategic reserve.
