This article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2025/12/27/crypto-security-warning-trust-wallet-confirms-7-million-chrome-hack/

Said that 7 million chrome hack through Trust wallet browser extension.

Users are advised to to update  to version 2.69,  following confirmation from Binance founder Changpeng Zhao that at least $7 million in crypto has been stolen by hackers.

Quote
The happy holidays message obviously wasn’t being taken seriously by cybercriminals, what with news that a Bad Santa password stealer was targeting Microsoft Windows users, and now the confirmation that a December 24 update to the Trust Wallet Chrome browser extension has led to the theft of at least $7 million.

Quote
A December 26 posting on the same platform, this time from Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, confirmed that the Trust Wallet security team was still investigating how hackers were able to submit a new version of the browser extension, and that $7 million had been affected by the incident at that stage of the investigation. “User funds are SAFU,” Zhao said, referring to the Binance Secure Asset Fund for Users, an emergency insurance fund, adding that “Trust Wallet will cover” any losses.

The hack went through due to Chrome browser security vulnerability, which is explained in this article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2025/12/17/googles-new-chrome-security-alert---take-these-3-steps-right-now/

we should be very careful in installing browser extension because it was always the target of hackers to infiltrate our devices.

There is an existing thread about the Trust wallet vulnerability and satscraper posted about the $7 million dollar that was stolen.  You can read it here -> https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=5569549.msg66223437#msg66223437

I read about it on the news first, CZ said addresses that were affected will be refunded.

Browser extension wallets are the most vulnerable wallets that people should completely avoid.
