I'd not go because I'm such a casual gambler that I don't really need it. Honestly, I don't show any symptoms of addiction. I had situations where I stopped gambling for a month and felt nothing. No need to do it, never thought that I'm missing out or something.

Since it's free, I would definitely take that offer. I know what my current position or status in gambling but if I have more insights into what gambling does to me, I would learn more about myself, which is a good thing for me. Since he's a friend and it's free, I can consider taking it, maybe I can learn a thing or two from his wealth of experience, I'll not be attending because of any addiction like he suspected but my love for quality interaction. Wait, what? There are doctors in gambling? This is the first time for me, never heard of such a thing nor had any idea this thing existed. I mean I know, there are doctors for mental health, but this term is totally new for me. Well, now to answer your question, why not! I wont take it even though I can get it for free because of few reasons:
1. I feel that I'm not having any gambling problems
2. Gambling is an activity that I keep it as a secret from others, doing a consultation means that I reveal my gambling activity to others.
3. Gambling is something ilegal in my country, if I do a gambling consultation then there is a bigger risk for me.

Although I answered yes in the poll, your reply made me reconsider as well. I also don't feel I'm having an issue with gambling, I'm an occasional user who focuses on football matches on the weekends or when there are other leagues/tournaments available. My budget is quite conservative for this reason and so is my time spent gambling, it doesn't affect my workdays. I also don't openly discuss it, apart from one or two close friends. There's nothing much here it is free consultation which many gamblers are still looking for such opportunity to come their way, still they couldn't get it. Of course I wouldn't mind going to that place because most times we often think that we are 100% sure of what we are doing forgetting that there are other things we are getting correctly. I don't need anyone, it might just be another free service to a premium entry service which he will use the free service to want to convince you that you have kind of problem to look out. I think.kts logical for human being think properly to be able to noticed this changes among them, if you can't think and know that this problem exist among you then you have enter a big challenge you may not be able to leave even if you decide to consult a special doctor.

Can we say that people that over gamble but makes money need to see a gambling doctor? I don't understand the logic behind it. Is this apply to all people that gamble, there are people that gamble everyday day and don't show any symptoms to be affecting them. If I do consider the doctor a friend and he offers his consultation as a professional, I would gladly take it. There's literally no harm in hearing some advice from a professional who is a friend and having seen some signs of excessive gambling, decides to offer his help, likely cause he cares about you.
I can understand people having enormous egos and obviously not wanting to hear the truth from someone, would decline believing there is nothing wrong with him. But if I were the one, I would take the consultation.

Well, it depends on of I am busy or not. If I have got stuff to do the  I'll pass on the offer but if not, then I'll take on his offer. However, those type of consultations where the consultant is your friend isn't effective because of over familiarity with the person. And we may not take their counsel seriously. If my friend however is setting me up to see another person, then ill accept it.

Whether it is free or paid, don't go for it until you are doing very well and disciplined. If I can share my view, then I will not go for it because I know myself better, and when I am good, then why should I discuss those things which I don't need or fill up my mind? If I need it, then I will pay for it and will go for the consultation at any cost. Before that, I think it's a waste of time and just burdensome for your mind.

I dont know if some doctors specialize in gambling addiction. What I do know are those who take care of people in rehab, people who are addicted to any substance or behaviour.

That's not what it's called, there is a specialist Psychiatrist, this doctor usually deals with problems about mental and other psychological disorders --- including gambling, this is a matter of mentality and mind, so it is more suitable for a Psychiatrist specialist.

If someone observe my behavior and wants to help me for free, I will definitely respond and go to him and what he thinks about me. If there was nothing personal in me, he might not have called me. Maybe there is a problem with my gambling habit or something else that I don't know. If his thoughts seem logical to me, then I will definitely take his advice. I think the way I gamble is okay, but he doesn't, which worries me even more why he wants to help me in this matter.
