How to avoid Ponzi/pyramid Scams:
  • When someone say guaranteed profit be strict and research the full process. There is no guaranteed profit without risk. think carefully does Money come out of thin air?

Most of them guarantee profits while their business models are vague, if you can do yourself some good to verify their licenses, you'll see it's fake but most people are in a hurry and rush into a mess.

Quote
  • Even sometimes friends or family members suggest you to invest in such website don't believe in them. They could be a victims of this scam they don't even know they are being baited

Other times they're the owners of those scam vehicles or part of the scam team, more reason why they have unmatched confidence in the project and the accounts they show you as proof of their deposits and withdrawal are mere proxies, we need to be very careful and never trust anyone in this crypto space.

Quote
  • Well if you read and completely understand how those scams are done . You should directly know if it's a scam or not. Some learn by doing mistakes while some learn from other persons mistakes
It is simple, when something sounds too good to be true, it is definitely a scam. Other times it may look normal and still be a scam, more reason we need not trust but always verify.

In crypto space Ponzi Scheme Types Project gives you always a big return if you're a early bird. Even though people know that it could lead to scam or in longer run they could fail but still early bird alway makes profit in ponzi type project.

In 2025 a big scam was done as a name of Pre Sale Toke. Even though a projects all tokens we're 100% unlocked people we're selling presale locked token in 50-60% discount. Which was basically lead to a ponzi scam .

I just heard the name Pig Butchering. Although I know the Scam methods but didn't know that this scam has a name to tag with . Eric Bergman got scammed $1.25M dollar while he was investing Team Water. A fake account impersonating Mr Beast, built a relation with him and them totally scammed him go away.

Read his Story here - https://x.com/i/status/1961439631653617983

These people tries months to just built a strong relationship with you.

At first, after seeing this post, I thought this kind of post is usually made by AI. Then again, when I saw a new member wrote such a big post, I assumed it was done with AI. But this post is completely human-written and it is a very important and timely post.

The real situations shared here show the current crypto world clearly and it’s a very good post to help people stay alert. From real experience, the writer explained each scam in a clear way, which is helpful for beginners and also a warning for experienced users.

Even though I already knew about this spamming before, the way the Phishing and Deepfake scam parts were presented here was really well done. This kind of post can help many people escape scammers and avoid being a victim. That’s why from my own side, if everyone stays careful personally, we can stay safe from scams but no matter how careful we normal users try to be, scammers already have better ideas about all these things. The ones that are professional-level scammers will even move forward with higher-level tricks, leaving these ones behind. In the crypto world, we must always stay alert because if you lose focus even for one moment, scammers will quickly see the chance and use it to scam.

Annnd, now this is what I called content. ..

Well written and well put together, you've said it all and I don't think anything else is missing other than fake app downloads even on our favourite app stores. Not a single one of them is safe. Ordinary good looking keyboard app will spy on you and keep  every words you type stored into the cloud.

If you use this keyboards to insert your seed phrases you are already compromised.
Nothing is safe on the internet anymore, scams are waiting in every corners.

Obviously, scams are everywhere, and we just need to be careful with what we do online, all in the name of surfing the internet and downloading unknown apps we have no knowledge about. People have lost assets, funds, and vital information due to carelessness about what they have no idea about. We should not allow such to happen to us before we learn our lesson; other people's expository and experience should be a teacher and a lesson for us to learn from, except you want to learn the hard way.

We should do our best to avoid downloading unknown apps and the access we grant them because it is through such medium that funny things happen to us through our devices, unknown to us. Video permission we grant, mic permissions, and other access we grant to apps on our gadgets sum up to the problems we face, unknown to us. Mind what you download and access, as you grant such apps.

What use to surprised me the most is this, despite all the awareness about scams and the various examples being set, some will still have the opportunity of coming across these and yet, fall a victim of any of the related scam and act as if they were not warned, we should be able to remained guided and always informed, because scam is real and those trying to deprive us of what belongs to us are not sleeping, so we must also wake up to the task ahead and secure what belongs to us.

Good breakdown, but if I may add, it also good to know on where to report crypto scams. Here are some of them:

Those are only few that I know, maybe some of you can add on the list.

In my estimation, there is no scam that is new under the sun. All the scams that can be thought up have already been thought up. Anything we see now are just being reinvented and re-engineered from the old but nothing is new. Ponzi schemes is almost as man if I do say so. They are adapted to fit the new medium or platform where they want it to be executed.

Very good information and write up by the way. This will be a reminder for newbies and a refresher for the oldies.

No doubt, it is true that scammers will always tend to diverse new means for scamming people when the old methods gets outdated. And as such, that's even a more reason why we need to apply the general safety measures at all times, knowing fully well how scammers will always want to lure people into offers that looks too good to be true. And one of the general safety measures as a Bitcoin investor we needs to adopt is avoid clicking any link sent to you, either through a business conversation with a stranger or a random link been sent to you on the same device you have your Bitcoins kept. Because a lot of persons have lost their funds in this manner due to negligence. While secondly, another general safety measures people need to adopt is to try as much to be contented with the little they have, and avoid anybody online or offline that seems to offer return of investment that seem too good to be true.

Op mentioned everything correctly, seeing modern scam pattern I expected to see wallet hack involve, crypto hack is so popular now reason why no one should disclose personal information to a third party, informations like private keys also a good wallet choice.
Ponzi scheme has been for long mostly common with crypto investment, only an untrusted investment will lead investors astray and this is as a result of the pump and dump scheme. Not every coin is worth buying viewing most organizers only focus on the profit made without considering investors basically such coin is built base on scam and nothing else, it’s best to carry out the right research first before choosing any coin.

Phishing scams has always been on the internet and aid other scams. All these are often through social engineering which is where the main issue is for me.

There are many prone to manipulations one way or another and the listed scams above shows some of the scams they can fall into, and this is another reason we need to stay guided always and be cautious of how we trust.

Mostly scammers are always targeting newbies because they notice they are the ones that are easily convinced. A newbie might just finish reading about a particular scam strategy, and within a short period of time, they still going to fall for similar scam strategy which they came across.

Some newbies are just so desperate to make money, so whenever they are convinced by scammers, they will want to give it a trial, and they just going to be scammed, that’s why we shouldn’t be after quick money when it comes to crypto space.

When you are communicating with a scammer, their are always signs that will inform you that the person you communicating with is a scammer, but some people are not so smart to notice those signs, and some people do see it as a normal thing. Whenever we are communicating with anyone and we discover some red flags, we shouldn’t take it as a normal thing.

In crypto space Ponzi Scheme Types Project gives you always a big return if you're a early bird. Even though people know that it could lead to scam or in longer run they could fail but still early bird alway makes profit in ponzi type project.
usually though when they are able to cash out from the project, most likely is that they will come back for more and would want to cash out again and so at the end when everything fails and the leaders of the project go missing, they are caught in the middle with their money taken away and not much money gotten out of it

This topic is based on what I experienced and what I learned about Crypto scams.  I hope It will help newbie to learn about Crypto scams and give them ideas to avoid it. Scammer constantly change to  different scamming  method as time goes, they
Manipulate our fear, greed, trust and urgency to steal assets from us. Some common scamming methods are….
There are abundant scammers who don't want to put their decent efforts for working and getting money the right ways. They are lazy and try to get money in easy ways in their mindset by scamming other people. When people generally know about scammers and most popular scam methods, they will realize that scammers are pretty stupid.

There are as said many scam methods used by scammers but by learning about some most popular scam methods, people can understand more about scammers. Then they will know that they can stay safe, stay away from scammers by maintaining their good, clean habits on Internet (online), on their devices (even offline), and stay cautiously and carefully with their actions. It's simply enough and people don't have to learn about all scam methods.

The cryptocurrency scambook.

Very good information and write up by the way. This will be a reminder for newbies and a refresher for the oldies.
This is not just a reminder for newbies because these scammers are devising sophisticated means of defrauding people. The most terrifying one is the use of artificial intelligence to build software, clone videos, pictures and voices. An elderly couple was recently scammed in my area because these scammers successfully cloned the voice of their only son. They claimed he had an accident and was able to develop fake pictures that looked real. We have to be careful because these tools are getting more advance everyday that dectecting them needs attention to details.

That's how the leades tempt their subordinates where the leader let the subordinates cash out first and when they come back is the time where the person under the leader won't be able to cash their money out and lose money when that's what they aim to do but as what you have said that if the project really has goal to achieve and yet it failed then it's the same thing that will happen where the person below the leader won't get anything even $1 from it.

In this cyber world, there are indeed so many scams lurking, whether it is scammers who lurk their potential victims to let their guard down, or scammers who try to lure them with all sorts of promises, or even direct attacks, which could be called penetration scams.

Generally, scammer attacks are indirect, meaning they try to trick potential victims with all the tricks they have, whether they try to be impersonators or provide fraudulent schemes that seem vague. We can actually avoid all of this by checking and rechecking, or verifying the authenticity. Simply put, those of you active in crypto have often received sudden transfers of unfamiliar crypto tokens, without knowing where they came from, and most of these are scams. These scammers try to lure potential victims into swapping their modified tokens. Once you attempt to do so, your wallet is drained. Essentially, you must be skeptical of the information you receive, and don't be easily tempted by things that seem "Too good to be true".

It’s because the scammers themselves are not getting relentless and are improving themselves everyday to actually get more sophisticated day by day that’s why tricks that actually look old and shouldn’t be actually getting caught up with people is still very well getting victims because the scammers are trying from their end to make it look enticing most especially to greedy people. Let me take for example the bybit hack which was actually through a phishing scam which is an old scam is still getting victims with high profiles as bybit cyber security team.

While I say scams are not inevitable I will also draw the attention that most people who are actually victims are either naive or gullible people or careless and greedy individuals
