It has been awhile we saw these kind of sad news on this forum, but another one happened recently again which is this. This is how some people use their greedy fast way of making money without thinking of the bad consequences to affected themselves. Just gamble with small amount of money is very important to be known. He just put his family into sadness. But the thing is some people will not still use this to learn.

Before I came across the information on the forum I saw it on a page on Instagram. it has now become a normal occurrence for people to juat take their life when something goes wrong with them, it just tells you how sick the society has become. like you said, people aren't really going to learn from other people's experience, more stories are going to keep coming because people lack self control.

This would not be the first time I see news about some gambler using other people money to gamble and all ends up badly. Actually, this reminds me some news I saw a couple of years ago about a Brazilian young woman who decided to use the money trusted to her by her university friends to bet on sports, she ended up losing everything.

That was money which was supposed to be used to pay for the graduation/prom of all students of her class.

She did not kill herself after the incident, but she spent time in jail because she legally committed fraud.

He used the money collected from tenants to gamble - this is a poor practice in general. You should not gamble with money you dont own or you cannot afford to lose. Because doing so only leads to increased mental stress when that money is lost. In this case this person gave up their life for it, which can never be worth it.

It’s sad when I hear news like this because someone here recently committed suicide because he gambled and lost too much. Then he also ended up stealing money from his workplace to gamble again but lost again. RIP to those who have died by suicide because of gambling. I hope people become more aware of the risks of gambling because when someone takes it too serious, it can lead to something worse like suicide. Completely quit gambling is not easy, especially when someone is already addicted that's why it's important to learn how to use money you can afford to lose. A 300L university student reportedly commit suicide after losing money to gambling. From the story going viral, he was made the caretaker of the Lodge he was residing in by the landlord. Gambling can never solve your financial problems but rather add to your problems. Regardless of your debt, you shouldn't take your life because it doesn't worth it. I can see the frustration that is in this post, though I believe we must look even further. It is obviously wrong to bet on money that is not your own, and greed is a common element with it, although desperation and inability to control oneself are influential. Committing suicide is not the answer but referring to the individual as a coward does not really help either. Most individuals end up making horrible choices when they are in a state of pressure and shame. What the lesson is here then is responsibility: never thus gamble what you cannot afford to lose, and, when you do wrong, confront it, request aid and endeavore to pay it back. Life should not be lost in gambling.

Gambling addiction can really ruin lives, but gambling in general isn’t the problem, it’s the addiction that is.

All this recent happenings are stuff that are leaving negative feed back on gamble games but people fail to realize that the addicted player are the cause not the casinos it self. However it's been stated more than a million times that gambling is completely based on luck and nothing absolutely is guaranteed, therefore we shouldn't play what we can't  be able to withstand if we eventually loss, always play or stake what you can let go to maintain your peace.

This is not the first topic about gambler from one of African countries commits suicide because of gambling. Gambling in Africa seems to be a real threat. If I read article correct, then he has ended life because of 600k Naira loss? What is around 500 bucks only... I have found that their average salaries are from 50 to 200k Naira. So it will take several years of work to repay debt (if nobody sponsors you). He was a student, so whole life ahead. I dont understand why he has made such decision to end life.

Living in poverty gives a lot of stress that makes a simple financial problem for us is unbearable for them considering that it’s hard to find job in there while he is still a student with debt.

I think their government should start regulating gambling strongly to avoid minor gambling since a student shouldn’t be allowed to gamble.

There’s something wrong to the way their country promotes gambling since I believe gambling is very popular on this region.

No doubt being poor is stressful, but is the situation is so bad in his Niger ? That it is impossible to earn and payback 500 bucks? He was a student, which means he had 40-50 years ahead to do that. Are people starving so hard, that it was easier to commit a suicide than wait until you die from hunger? I think that all answers are NO. So it is unclear that he has ended life due gambling or there was another reason.

Another thing, as it was mentioned that he was a university student, and by picture he does not look like a kid. He is probably +18 (in my country, when people go to university, they are already 18-19yo). So this case does not look like is about underaged gambling.
