I should call this lack of emotional intelligence. Why even gamble when you are not matured enough to handle the possible consequences.  Imagine you are going to do.such gamble and you donot even consider both sides of the  possible outcome.  I'd you are taking such risk you should be consider having a plan B of how to get the money back for the landlord.   Jsur such a sad story. Many of us underestimate small amounts of money, which we think are small and which we can initially afford to lose, but because we feel annoyed, we deposit more money. Sometimes responsible gamblers can also lose control because of small annoyances. I feel sorry for this man, this is serious news for us gamblers.

It is not the fact of the small amount or the big amount the main fact is here the amount you are putting on bet is that amount you can afford to lose, if not, then even if that amount is looks small, we should not spend that on the gambling. For example in this forum you lend only 25 for one week and your repayment will be 30 on the next week the lending cause be any important things but you spend the amount on gambling and you lose and then on the next week you brought another loan and extend that repayment duration and as well the interest also but even in this time the greed on your mind force you to gamble another time so that you will able to pay you repayment as well you will able to use for the cause you have took that loan, but this time again you lose and on repayment date if you haven't any others source to repay that loan then you might be loose your repution. This is also a small type of suicide in this forum.

So even if the fund looks small if that was beyond our ability we shouldn't gamble with that.

Like I have said in the past, suicide is never the solution to any problem. Instead, you’ll only just be creating more problems for those you’re going to live behind.

I don’t know if this is a new story or a old one but I think I have read similar one before, and with the way things are going I don’t think people actually learn from the past or from people’s experiences. Because if truly they learn then this whole issue of using money meant for school fee or school housing or someone else’s money won’t keep repeating itself and then leading them to take their life. It’s sad that people would actually take their life just because of money that they can pay back in just a few years time.

A 300L university student reportedly commit suicide after losing money to gambling. From the story going viral, he was made the caretaker of the Lodge he was residing in by the landlord. He remitted just small amount of money from the money he collected from the fellow students occupying the lodge as tenants and reportedly use the remaining to gamble.

Almost every story (if not all actually) that I've heard or read about somebody committing suicide as a result of gambling always has somethinf to do with them oweing somebody body that they likely do not have any means of paying, why then borrow to gamble when you know there is no means through which the money can be paid off if paraadventure the money is lost as a result of losing the game?

It's high time youths in our society stop cutting their lives and destinies short by making this type of grevious mistake, If I was in this guy's shoe, I will seriously consider suicide as well, as I can't imagine myself as a caretaker, collecting rent money from other students and spending it on gambling and losing it all, what will I tell the landlord happened to his money, how will the other students look at me when I am being driven out of the compound and possibly being escorted to prison by the police? It's very shameful, but the question is, why would I even make the mistake of gambling with someone else's money?

It has been awhile we saw these kind of sad news on this forum, but another one happened recently again which is this. This is how some people use their greedy fast way of making money without thinking of the bad consequences to affected themselves.

If we're talking about how many times similar incidents has happened, i won't be able to count how many times I've read multiple of similar news such bettors who bets their lives out of gambling takes their lives themselves after losing so uncontrollably.
Such victims are usually occurred to those who uses borrowed or investment funds to gamble. So after they realize how difficult it takes to recibwe the losts they tends to take their lives themselves.

That dude doesn't deserve to be buried. He should be burnt and his ashes spread on a high sea. I may sound a bit harsh on this but that's saying it straight up. At least, if you bother to see it through a parent's perceptive you will understand that pain he has caused his loved ones. I wouldn't say he was addicted and that was why he took his life. He was stupid and thoughtless. He didn't have the heart to stomach losses. Why go into gambling if you can't take losses? Addicts don't even act that way. You can't avoid addiction until you address elephants in the room. Gambling addiction doesn't come out of no where, it come from one place of greed, a place of gambling irresponsibly and having high expectations on a potential cashout and many things that a gambler should never do. If you do this things, you are likely going to be addicted to gambling and you can't stop it, it's not a curse, it's coming from a place of every action that has equal and opposite reactions.

A gambler should never gamble with funds they desperately need to use. There are many incidents that gamblers take their life because they lost a significant amount of money the are not ready to lose to gambling. They had high conviction on gambling which is funny and stupid, there has never been any gambling bet that has an assurance, it's only after you have won the game you can have conviction on the game you bet, it's sad how people are desperate to win when they borrowed money to bet.

Let me put it this way: your advice is as shallow as it is useless.  To say to someone addicted to gambling "Just dont be addicted" equates to saying to someone who is drowning "Just take some air".  Both statements are equally meaningless.

I think that this is a choice that is not good and that must be certainly weighted to what we have most precious that is life, that does not give it back to you no one is something so important to be protected, gambling can sometimes eat it, So be careful when playing without rules

This is not just a case of thinking or being uncertain; it's something we should boldly be aware of and distance ourselves from, taking any form of action in gambling or in life which will end up endangering our life over it. Iin gambling on thing you just need to have in mind is that their are so many loses waiting for you  when ypu start gambling,  this should be in one's mine because gambling is a game of luck that has two outcome, a lose or a win . This is not the first time I have come across this story. In fact, I have heard so many cases of people taking their own lives just because they could not overcome their bad gambling habits. Most of them are old enough to fully understand the risks involved and be responsible for their decisions. At that point, the issue here is not about whose life has to end but rather about a behavior that has to be stopped and corrected.

Gambling is not and never will be a financial solution—it mostly tends to worsen the problem. Killing oneself does not solve anything either; it simply transfers the burden of debt and pain onto the family and loved ones. There is always another way: stop gambling, admit your mistakes and seek help. Life can be made better again but when life is lost, there is no turning back. So, it is not the life that has to be "killed," but rather the bad habit before it's too late.

I guess he must have felt ashamed for having lost the money, since it didn't really belong to him, besides not finding a solution to recover the amount of money. This must have led him to desperation, which resulted on his final act. That is always sad to read such stories, which have starting point the impulsivity and lack of planning by the individual.

I don't know what could be the consequences for what he did in his local community (gambling and losing third party's funds), but I suspect it could be something quite serious, since he decided going into the route he took instead.

shame should not be the reason why a gambler should resort to committing suicide because life is short and lt is of no point to make it shorter. it's important for every gambler to know their limits and what they can handle, if you are the type that cannot withstand pressure you should not be gambling let alone think of borrowing money from others to gamble. no matter what the consequences might be for losing the third party's funds it would be nothing compared to suicide, he might probably get arrested till he pays up that is the worst that can happen.

Honestly, seeing shocking news like this evokes two different feelings (sadness and disappointment).

Sadness over what happened to him, meaning he was so depressed, so affected that he dared to think about ending his own life because of money that should not have been used at all, this is hot money, money that cannot be lost and will definitely cause confusion if lost, and he dared to speculate with that money.

Disappointment because the reason behind his death was gambling debt. However suicide is not the solution to all the problems we face, especially when those problems are the result of our own actions, not circumstances beyond our control.

For friends who are currently burdened with debt due to gambling, stay strong in fulfilling all your responsibilities. Do not even consider doing something like this. Everyone has a valuable reason to keep living. Think about the family who loves you, that will make you stronger.

Gambling can never solve your financial problems but rather add to your problems. Regardless of your debt, you shouldn't take your life because it doesn't worth it. Death can not wave the debt, you'll leave it behind for your family to pay and still cause them emotional stress for mourning your death.

No matter what, don't let gambling to finish you. If you can not gamble what you can afford to lose, better quit now before it get too late.

What is important to understand is gambling; that anything can happen. For a gambler take such risks he believes is possible to win. But if it though out the other way round you have to accept it, because is game not to do something stupid.
I understand most time is high level of risk of going borrow money or saling of propertys. Gambling can never make you rich or solve your financial problems. In no sense should gamblig finish you. If you know you can't accept losing better run.
