There may be disparity in the reasons responsible for why a customer patronizes a business and it is often more of common sense calculations that puts friction vs convenience and popularity vs utility in context as compared to other unmentioned reasons. Many advertisement and marketing campaigns by influencers and reviews may talk about the spot location of the business as the best, while an individual like me who doesn't want to go too far and doesn't require much payment stress may choose a business to patronize based on certain convenience. The factors affecting popularity may include waiting in long queues, proximity of distance, old card machines or using cash only for payments. While other factors that makes the choice of convenience and utility more reasonable may include the quickness of completion of a transaction, ability to include it into daily routine, ability to make seamless transactions with tap to pay or QR code rewards and of course being a regular face that is being recognized by the business workers and managers. My take: Picking a business to patronize in my locality or region of residence is not because of popularity, but because of convenience and utility. *What is your take on the matter?
