Two questions.
1. Why was XMR added to msft blockchain as service ?
2. Why was DASH not added?

Dynamic Block Size Caps Riccardo Spagni
What should the long term solution for the Bitcoin blocksize be? Although there is much debate about how to implement it, there isn't much contention over the fact that current static block size cap is not optimal in the long term. An overview of existing proposals, along with a comparison and history of Monero's working dynamic block size. Smart idea!

Curiosity: Mining with my laptop, for months I had typically (8-12)+8 connections. Recently it's 180+8. Why is this?

Use print_cn and see if there are a lot of connections in some stuck state. Or alternately, just restart it.

Computationally, mining XMR is difficult. Logistically, building a miner can be a nice hobby, depending on how into it you get. What kind of "good setup"? For instance, spending around $1k will get you a machine that might get 0.68 xmr per day. i enjoy building miners, and can set one up for you if you'd like. Alternatively, I maintain an iso image of an operating system that can be installed onto a setup to mine, so u just buy your own hardware and then install the OS. www.nodebox.linkbut if you do that, i'd wait till I update it... should be soon.

Here's a few random thoughts from my experiences: I only mine in the winter since mining will produce a good amount of heat. You'll want a desktop computer and not a laptop. Laptops can mine but they're not designed to handle the heat that constant high CPU use produces. I've done it using 50-75% of the cores on the laptop CPU but it's not recommended. If you're using GPUs, get a power supply that is rated at least 1.2x the amount of watts your system will use. Otherwise, the power supply (PSU) will wear out faster. Your CPU use will be minimal when mining on GPUs, and you could even mine your CPU while mining on your GPUs. When I've done that, I limit the CPU mining to 50-75% of the CPU cores so there's enough CPU available for other processing (SSH, crons, etc.).
