I want to export the blockchain to a usb flash drive.  I  am using linux.  The path to the flash drive is /media/a/Transcend/
Will this work?

not many people use blockchain import / export, so im not surprised you see an error. You could probably get away with just saving the data.mdb onto your SanDisk64GB - no need to export it into raw format.

Want to give you a cheer as a fellow acer 720p misuser (;-) Same here. love the thing with ubuntu. Swapped to 250GB ssd from the measly 16 and havent looked back. And yes: just copy the database folder. Thats all i did after my swap

That utility is meant to export the blockchain from database format to raw. Is this what you need?

If you just want to move the blockchain to a usb and access it from there, you should just move the files (preferably your whole .bitmonero folder) and use the switch --data-dir usb/path/to/.bitmonero-folder when starting monerod.

I was waiting a couple of days for answers at the support thread and here.  I finally just did the export, copied it to my flash drive, and restored my chromebook's operating system.  The lmdb is no more.  If I had known that I could just copy the lmdb (or the complete .bitmonero folder)  I would have done so; but I figured, if monero has a dedicated export command, there must be a reason for it.  So that's what I used.  Now the blockchain is gone and it's going to take forever to sync it.  The blockchain import command is going to take something like 30 hours, judging from the rate it's going; whereas just copying the database would only take a few minutes.  The import is much slower even than syncing through wifi.  What's up with that, anyway?

Yay Monero is hitting 0.011 again. Is this going to continue moving up or it will go down to 0.008 again? This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I guess. I can sense some people are going to dump again and then rebuy at 0.008/0.009. Hmm, I hope I have lots of time to study the trends.

Since it is your blockchain and you already verified it through your daemon, you can disable verification and use batch by specifying:
