I tried to use the lates Monero Wallet on a Ryzen computer (Windows 10 with all the latest updates) and I get   "Daemon failed to start"

Any suggestions ?

All the other wallets work fine.

Ok so your problem is that you have malware on your computer. It's one of the nastiest pieces of malware currently known to man. Researchers are calling it "windows 10". To get rid of it you can start by going to linux.org...

Na I'm just messing. Sorry idk I've never used the windows client.

wow, that was pathetic... Dont reply next time. Pathetic fanboy.

You're not my real dad!

I just downloaded and extracted ARM7.
monero-utils-deserialize is missing from my monero folder.
Did something go wrong with my extraction or did the devs forget to do utils?

Edit:  I just did the download again.  monero-utils-deserialize didn't make it into the ARM7 update.
I don't want to copy the utils from 10.3 into the my new 11.0 folder.  I can't use the wallet because it doesn't recognize my password without the utils.
Or am I supposed to use monero-utils-deserialize from 10.3?

Either use the one from 0.10.3.1, or build your own, if you really need it. I didn't think anyone needed it who wasn't building. What do you use it for ? If it's useful for other things that debug things, I can add it to release builds again.

Monero vs. Dash

I have completed my analysis on Dash and Monero on the privacy aspect, basically the 2 only currencies that are even worth analysing, the others are really not even worth my time.

I have wrote this lengthy, but throrough article about the subject, the Monero community might find it interesting:

After doing the update, the wallet doesn't recognize my password any more.  When I looked in the files and saw that one was missing, I assumed that was the problem.  Guess I was wrong.
So never mind about the utils file.   My problem is that my password doesn't work any more.  On the phone wallet, that is.  The 11.0.0 cli wallet on my laptop works, and it has the same address, password and everything as the wallet on the phone.
I'm probably going to retire that phone and install monero on a newer phone, see if I can get it to work better.  I was never able to sync the blockchain on the old phone, anyway.
So question:
Will it work to copy the .bitmonero folder from my linux 64 bit machine to my ARM8 phone?  Or do I have to sync the blockchain from scratch?

Isn't it much more convenient to connect on some node rather than sync the blockchain on your phone?

monero-utils-deserialize would be useless for this. he problem is that 0.10.3.1 has a busted Cryptonight implementation on ARMv7, and the wallet uses Cryptonight as a KDF, so now that Cryptonight is fixed, the same password doesn't yield the same decryption key.

Recreate your wallet from seed on that ARM device. You can load the wallet with 0.10.3.1 to get your seed first if you did not write it down.

Monero is literally the only "popular" crypto right now which is not taking extreme damage (like ETH/BTC/etc).

It's hard to believe that it's still $105 each, after all the damage to crypto world. Once bitcoin starts recovering up, I'm sure Monero would be seeing the new all-time highs.

Do you think it will increase its rate?..

I would say the market is too unpredictable. It's too complicated but Monero shows good results during last months. It's true.

Things are interesting today after JP Morgan's CEO  remarks, and US bill about crypto currencies. Market is really volatile after that.

Hello !
I'm mining monero with a new rig, on Nanopool but i may have done a mistake...

What if I indicated an address + a payment ID on Nanopool while i have a Monero Wallet on Mymonero ?
Because now i understand that payment ID is optionnal and usefull only if you want to be paid on an exchange account !

On MyMonero wallet, i clicked on the "Receive" button, then I copy-pasted the payment ID that appeared and use it to mine on Nanopool with my Monero address.

But now, the payment ID that MyMonero is showing is different from yesterday...Is it an issue ?

When Nanopool with send me some monero, will it be ok ? Or it will be lost cause i gave them an outdated payment ID ?

Thank you for the help !

If you are able to get on IRC (chat software), someone can probably help you out better than I can. http://webchat.freenode.net/ Give yourself a nickname and enter #monero for the channel.

Don't worry about it, as long as you hold the address the payment id can be anything, even if the address is with an exchange, the exchange will still get the coins even if payment id is omitted, just they'd have no idea which user to credit.
