I see, we have 1000+ nodes that is nice for an altcoin other than BTC. I just don't get how fast it can happen? Did the nodes pre-signal the update? Is that a possibility? Or did they need to download a new software and restart their node client. I am not exactly sure how the upgrading procedure works. I know for BTC you have to download a new software and replace the old one. I am just not sure how can that be done in 2 minutes for 1000 nodes. You set a block for the new code to run on and any node that is not supporting that version gets ignored by the updated code, all you have to do is get a consensus to upgrade (make the new code the majority fork{if there is one}). As Monero has done this upgrade on a regular schedule all nodes know they must update or be left behind. There is always a possibility of a fork that survives just like ETC or BCC but that is exceptionally small in monero at this time. Don't get me wrong. I have plenty of my own beef with ETH. But I do not understand this criticism.
Are you saying turing complete on chain scripting is necessarily impossible to be fungible or immutable in all conceivable implementations? Or are you claiming this of ETH particular implementation?
Yes ETH specifically cannot be made retroactively fungible. Also I understand what fungible and immutable mean generally but I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by them in this case. Can you elaborate? Do you have any relevant links that lead you to this conclusion? It is my understanding that making a already created chain cannot be made fungible it must be so from inception but even if that were not true you could never remove the chain that already exists. As far as immutability, once it's gone it's gone FOREVER. If you are talking about how they hard fork and roll back all the time to make up for their incompetence than I would say they can (and should) have chosen not to do that.

Although interesting proposal for increasing awareness, I expect the stores will dump the coins on exchanges as soon as they can so the added value to the ecosystem may not be great. Or maybe I'm too pessimistic The good part is that they are trying something, anything.

So lemme get this straight. They create the new code, put it in a new software, then leave like 1 month for every node to download and verify it. Then at a pre-coded time the hardfork activates if a majority of nodes signal it by then. So for example if a new hardfork were to come out by Dec, they would release the code in like 1 month, people would have plenty of time to verify that and then signal it if they wish it. Is that how it goes in Monero? I mean you can't really download and verify the software in 2 min, so I guess that phase was the previous few weeks was it?

The pool where I'm mining monero had a countdown for the HardFork V6 more than a month ago.

You did exactly what you've done to help Monero in the past: exactly nothing. In fact, in the past just as today, all you offer is negativity, selfishness, greed, and criticism. You have never done a single thing to aid Monero in any way, shape, or form. And yet Monero succeeds despite your efforts to the contrary, sucks to be you.

Its good news and reading that made me more positive.
there is not only a business intention in there, there is also a positive "further Monero" intention.
Production of a kind of Monero style guide, how and what? to implement Monero payments for any site or service.
That all sounds awesome.
Been in this community a long time, pretty much since the beginning.
I love you guys,
Phil

He is salty, because despite his numerous attempts to troll Monero over the years. Monero has gone from strength to strength. Just ignore him. No point wasting energy on a troll.
