Your points are good ones, but your concerns are addressed in the text.  Nobody is jumping into anything, just investigating possibilities.

I  too am pleased to see the extended review time for bulletproofs (which has already netted improvements in the code/operation) despite my enthusiasm to embrace the advances.  Remember when it took years to advance one step, with a handful of contributors?  This is still lightspeed Smiley

It has been moving at an excellent pace this last year and hopefully will continue at a reasonable rate as it progresses. I couldn't be happier that bulletproofs are proving themselves and are going to be improved before the next HF.

Member waiting for the database to be completed mean while monero was sucking down 10+ gb of ram or something? I member.

I might have lost hope and sold if I could have even gotten to my damned monero to sell it!

Rotflmfao! right, Lol seems like that was so long ago these days. Smiley

HELP!!  Huh

Would anyone be kind enough to shed some light on how I might go about resolving this DB error.

I noticed whilst downloading the blockchain (output from moenrod) that we had stopped @ 20:57 / Block 1347628.

I decided to reboot as the server had completely crashed.

After I realised that the controller/hard disk had fallen over, I restarted but it refused 3 times on the trot.

I'm guessing that as the last entry in the log before that block of corrupt data (....±ÏüÞ¶o@¬Æ¦]Cê±ÏüÞ¶o@¬Æ¦]Cê±ÏüÞ.....) is 20:56 / Block 1347408, that the data I saw from monerod (blocks 1347408 to 1347628) was the last amount of data the server had in memory before it simply couldn't write it to the hd.

<snip>

Your blockchain is corrupted. You can apply this guide:

Also before doing anything I would run a scan of your disk and make sure you have enough space available.

Wow. It just gets swarmed with developers in 2018. They look like a cloud of nats. Exciting times.

Hey everyone.  We are coming up to another point in time where there is another popular event to gamble on that pertains to gambling on people playing the sports ball.  I just want to go ahead and say I'm sorry if you see me around the boards shilling yet another event I'm holding, but if any of you guys are interested, I am gaining interest in seeing who wants to participate in this year's 2nd Annual Monero Madness thread.

If you by chance like gambling and go to the bars enough to where you will be forced to watch multiple games of college kids shooting the bouncing orange sport ball through the circular net hoop... then this just might be for you! Smiley

Hardfork shmardfork... come join the real madness.

Yeah, their whole ToS scared me away when i was about to open an account there last year.  I mean, they are ALL bad, but for some reason, that one actually stopped me.

This seems to be the wording in all the ones getting fintech approval, I'm pretty sure Polo did it months ago as well. I doubt it will hold up in court. Gotta love the parts when they say by signing in you are agreeing to their terms lol, That will never hold up in court!

Monero is definitely a strong bet for a long term hodl.

I expect a lot of money to move into privacy coins as bitcoin forensics go to the next level.
People don't want to get exposed.

My top 2 long term privacy bets are Moooonero and DeepOnion.
