On the coding side... Everyone's got to start somewhere.. as long as you have the basic skills; a EECS/EECE or similar background (preferably degree).. this stuff is pretty trivial.  

It just takes time / effort.. googling/stackoverflow .. just like anything else.

Most of the altcoin "devs" probably aren't even as qualified as Xuorc or EnabledZombi3..

It's just about getting past that barrier of fear.. like anything.. to get started.  As with anything getting started is the hardest part...so just get to it.

make -f makefile.unix
modify Makefile to "-g3"  and step through some code using eclipse...

Thank you for your comments.  I written to the metal on PlayStation 1, 2 & 3.  Takes me back to my first time in the industry when we received the PlayStation 1 from Sony as not much more than a circuit board.  But this is different and not in my comfort zone but I will do what I can which may well be nothing.  Worth a go even for my own education.

That's the only way the fix can work.. and why Cryptsy has already let us know that if we block that address this can get relisted and reopened..

It's only the fact that the damage is containable that the patch even has a chance to work.

If we pursue the path that i am suggesting.. it would just be called AsiaCoin , except patched/fixed with a hard fork.  It would be more of a community takeover..
