The devs are now building an installer because webstart sucks. I think thats one of the last steps, but there is no release date.

Nobody set a release date. There was an estimate and that said march, I think. But why is it so important? NEM launches when its ready. I'm happy it had a long beta testing, we found some bugs which I think would have been bad to find after launch.

The frightening thing is if NEM had released sooner than already we may had lost 5%-10% of the coin's total supply. You people would had whined and moaned for NEM to be on BTER, because there is also where the highest NXT and many alternates' volume is, while BTER themselves would had been like: "sorry we won't do your multisig thing, lulz" and imagine where we could be today. . .

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution. The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

All i say is that with all the unclaimed NEMstakes, i would like to see those coins burned forever.
We dont want another situation where there is a large premine held.
Or the other option which is probably more fairer anyway would be to distribute the remaining coins evenly to the rest of the stakeholders according to the percentage of NEMstake held.

Well ok, for NEM it won't be BTER but there will be another exchange where funds from a "cold" wallet gets stolen... People just don't understand that they should not keep they crypto funds in an exchange.

I feel like one of the major sticking points in crypto is its marketing. I'd much rather see the money used for marketing. In coin after coin their marketing attempts fail.

Multisig is looking even better now. bter got BIT Assuming exchanges will be smart enough to actually use it, anyway inside jobs will always win With multisig though, it's much harder to claim they were hacked when really it was an inside job. Furthermore, multisig opens the door up for user/exchange key combinations that literally means the exchange can't steal your money even if they wanted. There are already quite a few exchanges building on this model, but most are still on the early stages. Bitcoins multisig is terribly complicated, but lucky for us NEM's multisig is much simpler to use.
