The evidence is that its being pushed by btc38 and associated chinese news portals. Chinese are good at promotion. Im sure that they promote it in QQ groups to lure international sheeple into it, and will possibly start dropping nem once the advertising is done.

this is all well and good, but who cares, no customer on a number of transactions, and such examples are already available to bitshares and bitcoin to mine for a private blockchain will be enough for the Nem blockchain with the filling of the blocks

Hello NEM forum!

Quick question:  is the fact that nem sees such low volume due to the fact that it is POI and not POS or POW? Because no miners are manipulating the price or whales doing the same earning mega interest.. if it is then that's great because it would seem that the price and NEMs cap are one of the most natural in crypto. Any thoughts on this?

Also, after doing a lot of reading on NEM, i understand that it is pretty amazing and quite far ahead of most of its competitors. Also the recent study into the security of the top blockchain projects proves NEM is leading in some aspects. Why is it then, that I have never bothered to give NEM any time to read up on? Because I'm no one special and I guess most people are like me in crypto land who just read up on projects when it catches their eye.

I witnessed the pump last year but (luckily now) didn't buy in at that time. I understand also that the partnership is what fueled this rise. But why 6 months later is the price back to what it was pre-partnership announcement (within reason). Also, with the new applications released running on NEM, why has there been no news releases or anything? It's a big deal right? Both that and the security study that was carried out.

I just want to understand this community and project a bit more before buying in.

Yup. No mining and no inflation is a big factor in how the volume behaves. It seems to veer pretty wildly. I'm sure whales have picked it up and thrown it down in the past a la that insane bubble.

I don't believe there was any reason for the rise other than Poloniex whales feeling like having an artificial pump. I doubt most of them knew what it was or what it could do. It's just another three letters to prey on.

Why NEM is so invisible is one of the great mysteries. Again, no mining is a factor and also no crappy ICO type stuff either to stoke ongoing hype. It can certainly do plenty more than the junk that others get excited about elsewhere on here. Its time will come.
