Ive always wondered...

why havn't people used blockchain technology to track say, video game credits (Say, an andriod RTS game) via blockchain technology? Essentially giving players/gamers a more hack-proof method of gaming, but also an opportunity to participate in a growing crypto market by holding a digital game currency that could have value?

It started to float around in my head when i noticed a few members of my family get into some rts andriod games and boast about their in-game treasuries...

Why couldn't NEM be used as a ledger system for such game currencies? And be interchangeable within the game via some in-game exchange? (So, gamers could sell their tokens for nem or vice versa).

Just seems like a huge opportunity there to not only demostrate the potential of nem/blockchain, but also spread awareness and create demand....

There's alot of already established andriod games that might show interest if approached correctly...

As I understand it, this is part of the USP of GameCredits whose USP (or at least it's raison d'etre) is being 'the future of in-game monetization'
https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=1266597.0

No reason, as far as I can see, why NEM couldn't be used in a similar way - it's a huge market

Hi & Thanks, BloodyRookie!   Smiley

I am asking if an official* one is live right now (by the NEM team), not if/when there will be one available to the public.  And, if so, what is the average daily trading volume?

*Decision to participate in market making activities using project funds.

I am not in the marketing team, but i doubt there is any market making activities.

Can anyone else from the team give a definitive answer, please?  The questions are pretty straightforward.

Bloody Rookie is one of the officials. If there was an official market making bot, he should know it.

That is exactly what Xhai Studios are planning to do. They are incorporating NEM into their game "Send'em to hell" plus they are developing a platform for game developers, which will kind of be like an alternative to the Apple and Google appstore. They will integrate NEM there as well, so developers can easily use it as a game credit token or whatever.

I know he's part of the NEM team, but it didn't sound like he was absolutely positive (e.g. not that i know of, i doubt).  If what he said was meant as a definitive no, I'll take it.

Just ask on telegram.
Tbh i dont even understand what you want to know?

Is there an official NEM Market Maker bot active?  If yes, can someone please point me to any relevant posts/documentation?  If no, stop reading & post No!   Grin

Just brainstorming in regard to the best way of having the development funds absorbed by the Market when/if need for significant funding arises (is anything big coming up, btw?).  I don't really want to delve too deep if part of the current liquidity is provided by NEM itself.  Further crowdfunds at market rates (i.e. off the exchanges) are always an option, of course, but I'm curious to see what's feasible out in the wild.

Thanks in advance!   Smiley

The NEM team has no market making bot nor do we ever partake in controlling the market.

We do however have a sell bot that I recently bountied to help slowly and even sell funds from the marketing fund to fund our activities. There was a request to release a buy bot so one of those has also been made and is being privately tested. We will release it to the public this month. The blog has already been written but I've been too busy to post. On a trip now.
